People are harmless and safe as houses...mostly lovely and nice, and non violent.
Weather - yeah sure, nice most of the time, but im not one of those people over here just for the sunshine.
pace of life and the priorities of the people by and large are better than back home in London. Its not all about work work career work job and Status Anxiety.
The prevalence of old classic cars. YEAH MAN!! wicked.
Architecture of the old style
the villages
crime rate low
atmosphere nice for socialising
room to be myself, and not conform to the usual bullsh*t ways of being like it is back in London.
More spare time

The roads, the state of them, the expense of motor cars, the idiocy of drivers and the way that drivers turn into such utter pri*cks when behind the wheel. They never say thank you by way of a hand gesture acknowledgement when I pull in for them, and they never let you turn off even when its holding up the fu**** main road of traffic.
A general feel of incompetence and lack of common sense amongst society, and the government. How hard is it to build a pavement, and proper road signs, and alert the public of road closures and sh*t? Not very.
the shops are NEVER OPEN, even when the sign clearly says the opening hours include the time you are standing lke a lemon outside the f*****g door having made the effort to get to the premises. Very frustrating.
Salaries are low, and yeah yeah, call me a whinging ex pat boor, but the cost of living is outstripping means of paying for stuff.
Mass tourism has given way to uber ugly out of control mega tack tourism. Weird.
Globalisation has come home to roost in a depressing way. McDonalds, Starbucks, Next, KFC et al... GO HOME back to your stinking, soulles, vacuous maze of greed and nothingness called the USA where you belong.
The dying out of the old villages and customs, and replacement by so called cosmopolitan living. Which basically means that Cyprus is starting to resemble Essex or Bluewater shopping centre, more than a beautiful and unique mediteranean island near the middle east.
The Church: er, excuse me, who are you, you unelected bigotted dictators telling people how to live. Weird.
Ciao.
