I was a warning shot from Turkey, but they miscalculated and it fell in the occupied areas. Shame it didn't take out the 70,000 troops they have over there!

very misleading title. it made me think we were finaly recognised by marsians. as to what will happen if a war starts, there you have it, thats what south will become.

anyway get your facts right, terggy does not need 70,000 troops to handle you pussies. 25k will be sufficient. in fact even just one division would be sufficient to drive off limasol southwards.

WTF are they waiting for then, kuz? :?

It seems that it was a Russian (actually Soviet) S-200 rocket. Probably it was fired from the Syrian Air Force aiming at an intruding Israeli fighter airplane.

Did someone forget to tell tell him that Israel is South of Latakia!

OOPSY! Maybe Abduli was drinking too much Vodka with the Russians.

No wonder the Israelis are pissing themselves with laughter.

Would you be making such comments if this missile debris had fallen on a populated area killing and injuring Cypriots ? It is only by pure random chance that this did not happen. Comments like this, to me. only emphasise how 'removed' some are not just geographically from Cyprus but emotionally as well :(

Following such events from as far back as the 60s you come away with the impression that the Syrians tend to blindly throw everything they have into the air when attacked.

The Russians/Israelis/US/UK actually talk to each other about these things over there in order to deconflict. In fact, you get the distinct impression, given their capabilities, that the Russians are pretty blase about Israel's activities (essentially the prevention of Syria passing sophisticated SAM/arms equipment to Hezbollah in Lebanon). They choose to sit back and do nothing.

That was stress tested a short while ago when the Israeli's carried out an attack from the sea off Latakia and the Syrians shot down a Russian aircraft in the same area. Again, the Syrians throwing the kitchen sink into the air.

Regardless of the ho-haa then (Israel was accused of using the Russian Ilyushin as "cover") there still appears to be deconfliction going on between the two.

Another reason why the s300's should come back to Cyprus from Crete.
