The genocide of the tc’s Must have been the most unsuccessful genocide the world has ever seen.

For nearly two decades the gc couldn’t manage to genocide more that 5,000 tc and the tc managed to genocide roughly the same number of Gc’s in return. These numbers are inclusive of a civil war.

What the tc excel in though, is being separatists and ethnic cleansing, and achieving enosis with turkey.

But the solution for Cyprus is something else and that could be bringing the s300's back from Crete.

So we come full circle and whatever other nations do around Cyprus has much, much less potential consequences for her.

I admit I slightly strayed off the thread, but I find it ironic that in Cyprus we recognise the aggression of Turkey and the aftermath of 1974 but are quite content to be 'best friends' with another country doing exactly the same thing Turkey did to this island but to another people.

I don't agree that bringing the S-300's back from Crete would be a solution! As Turkey is the only military threat to Cyprus that would just be a provocation and in all reality if the RoC National Guard confronted the Turks again ...... the GC's will lose the rest of the Island and they will get the same support they got in 1974 ..... zilch, nothing but hot air and sympathy!

IMO: We should be standing shoulder to shoulder with the Palestinians against the land theft and continuous aggression from Israel. We should be recognise the the pain of the Palestinian people as we expect others to recognise the pain that GC's feel. But the Palestinians pain started 26 years before 1974 and, unlike the GC's in 74, has gone on up to this day ........ continuously!

With all due respect to the Palestinian cause and their plight....but I think we've done enough shoulder to shoulder standing with the world's barefoot, oppressed and non-aligned freedom fighters.

Time we stood shoulder to shoulder with some geo political leverage instead.

But Cyprus does support Palestine.

That does not mean Cyprus can not be or should not be friends with Israel at the same time.

You can help the Palestinians better by being friends with Israel because your friends have the most influence on you. And vice versa.

I agree with this too.

You are not going to make any headway with Israel with recalcitrance. As an ally to Israel, you can also be a bridge or mediator for the Palestinians.

There is no reason why we can't be an ally with Israel. our interests seem to align right now and we are neighbors and our defence Forces can collaborate and form a strategic alliance in the region.

Cyprus, Israel and Egypt are in the same boat together, and need to get along. All 3 countries have agreed and delineated their respective EEZ in accordance with UNCLOS just like any responsible law abiding country would.

the country that is breaking all international conventions is Turkey!
