Ah, I see why you can't grasp Brexit now; as Paphitis says, it is the whole concept of democracy which is beyond your comprehension!

How dare The Proles get to have a say in what is going on eh? Much better if the enlightened few make the decisions and The Proles just do as they are told!

lets see how many intelligent fools there are here.

please somebody explain how boris or hunt will ever be able brexit if the current set up in parliament does not change.

explain how either will get all their mps vote for it when likes of ken clark and dominic greave has declared that they willing to bring the government down if either attemt a no deal brexit. they will only have about 4 majority with the dup. even allowing for the few labour mps that may vote for it, about 12 tory mps will be enough to bring this government down.

do the maths and somebody explain how?

come on mr you are an intelligent man, explain.

Mate the referendum was not binding as elections are. It was merely an expressed vote. Besides, there should have been a mandatory...IQ test, anyone under ...1 should have been barred from voting. You would most definitely be barred!

I don't want to get embroiled in my zillionth "debate" on this subject. CG's right in the respect that it's just the same ole, same ole going around and around. It tends to boil down to Remainers wanting somebody to angrily rant at. After 3 years I've pretty much had enough and - although my use of Anglo Saxon adjectives is very rare - they can fuck off and rant at somebody else. (You can tell that I'm a lower working class idiot).

Nevertheless, I think that parliament's invoking Article 50 - and the acceptance of it's clear implications - was primary legislation. Incidentally, the vote to do that was 334/85 in favour. AFAIU, it takes similar legislation to revoke. The bottom line is that the (latest) default position is if nothing changes the UK will leave the EU on 31st October automatically, as a matter of UK law.

FWIW. Personally I don't believe that Boris will honour his promises. I have no trust at all in either of the UK's main political parties. They are both serial liars and I suspect they will reap the whirlwind for it.

There's always the prorogation of parliament option as well.

I just wonder. If the UK ended up staying in the EU does anybody really think that over 17 million very angry people are going to shrug their shoulders and say "Fair enough. At least we gave it a try". The truth of course is that the genie is out of the bottle and this is an issue that is never going to go away.
