BTW, the people are the greatest sovereign entity of any democratic nation. Parliamentarians are the elected servants of the people, and a referendum of millions of voters exceeds the vote of a couple of hundred parliamentarians.

This is the way the UK systems works and has worked for 100s of years. If parliament does stuff the people do not want or does not do what they want then the people vote them out of power. If BJ wants to stop parliament from blocking a no deal exit then the only democratically valid ways to do that would be to call a general election and hope voters backed him and his plan, or call a referendum. Any other approach, in the face of a parliament (and population) that has a majority support for not leaving without a deal, is the antithesis of democracy.

No parliaments duty in a democratic society is to represent the people and implement their wishes. A referendum is the ultimate parliament of the people.
