I have said many times. You know very little if anything about anything. Sterling hasn't been....steady, less than a month ago it touched 1.17 euros, now at around 1.115. Whenever there is any speculation of a second referendum the pound rises. Should Boris win, I doubt it, Sterling will reach new lows. Remember, I follow markets closely, one reason I did not consider buying Tesla, you seemed to be in agreement with another Aussie who tipped it at $376, now around $220.
Let me also state that the financial meltdown of both Greec3 and Cyprus had nothing to do with the EU but their own corruption. Cyprus has now recovered, thanks to the support of the EU. I love Cyprus, wouldn't live anywhere else but I must state that greed , nepotism, corruption is rampant. The love of money here is tremendous, a man is judged by t
His assets, cars, cloths etc. One reason I'm so so happy here is just being down to earth, I do own a second car now only because I got it ....cheap. a lovely Merc. I shall soon be buying my very own....boat, fir fishing mind you.

And its still 1.12.

Miltiades, you have been going on about the Sterling for a long time but the fact remains it has not collapsed at all. A small drop like that is hardly a collapse of the currency.

It reached a peak of 1.175 in May and it is 1.12 now.

https://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from ... UR&view=1Y

Now if you actually study the trend you will see that the currency is actually quite stable and horizontal. there are a few peaks and troughs but overall, this doesn't appear to be under as much stress as you would like to portray. You are just fear mongering like all the rest of the stupid remoaners.

You also avoided my last point. if according to you, a strong currency is a good thing, then please explain Cyprus ditching one of the most strongest currencies on the planet for the very weak Euro Peso!

Yeah if you consider movements of 6% and more in the space of 6 weeks or so 'remarkably steady' ! Plonker. (GBP/Euro rate 6 May 2019 1.17576 I June 2019 1.11389)

What a ridiculous notion to compare a specific event like brexit with a notion like 'uncertainty'. What can be irrefutably seen is that any time anything is said or done that leads the market to think the chance of a no deal brexit is increasing - sterling falls and every time anything is done or said that leads the market to believe the chance of a no deal exit is decreasing Sterling increases. Plonker !

It is not 'the Sterling' it is just 'Sterling'.

That was a long time ago Miltiades. I am talking about the last 12 months which I posted a link.

I will also provide your with the last 2 years. It seems stable. And it is still worth more than the Euro. And Britain can print and inflate its debt with Quantitative Easing. Win win for Britain. Greece and Cyprus can't do that making them serfs to the banks till the year 2060. If countries were slaves, Greece and Cyprus are now Germany's little bitches!

There is certainly no sign of collapse.

The referendum occurred in July, 2016. that's 3 years ago.

Well it was actually June 2016 not July
Sterling has been on a slow downturn, if Brexit comes it will sink. Personally I'm down more than 100,000 euros because of Brexit. Should I be ...rejoicing?? We have our ...country back and control of our borders. What a load of fucking rubbish.

Actually it was June, but never mind.

The day after the referendum, June 24, the pound sterling fell to its lowest level against the US dollar since 1985, marking the pound down 10% against the US dollar and 7% against the euro. Where was the "uncertainty" on the day after the vote, we appeared to be certain we were going to leave?

Yes I know that but that was 3 years ago. it's hardly relevant.

Milti is going on and on about the Sterling not holding its ground and dropping its bundle and that is not true. The Sterling has been very steady since then. I posted a couple of graphs.

It must be a very slow downturn lasting 3 years then because in that time it has hardly moved other than a few Pence up or down.

So look at this graph and tell me about this so called downturn and collapse....

https://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from ... UR&view=2Y

Also, if you go back to 2011 and 2012, the Sterling was again at about 1.11 to the Euro.

I thought you said you study the markets!
