Of course there was, is and always will be a spectrum of ways and degrees to which we could leave the EU. Turkey is not in the EU and is in the customs union. Norway and Switzerland and Iceland are not in the EU but are in the EEA. Of course there was always a spectrum in regards to what leave could mean. That you can claim there never was or is such a spectrum, to me just shows how much you are willing to deny reality in pursuit of your objective of leaving without a deal and without having to worry about if there really is majority support for such in the country.
There is a reason why before the referendum campaigning for leave from the likes of Farage and leave.eu campaign did not talk about leaving without a deal or campaign for such, did campaign on the basis we could easily get a cake and eat it deal and did keep talking about examples like Norway and Switzerland. Just as there is a reason why after the result this rhetoric was forgotten and replaced with 'anything other than a no deal exit is Brexit in name only'.
Just as there is a reason, even now, given the deadlock and mess we are in, there those (and you would appear to be one) who want a no deal exit and will try and find any means fair or foul of achieving it without having to get explicit consent of the people for such, whilst claiming the are doing so in the name of 'democracy'. If you believe in democracy then you would accept that we should not leave the EU without a deal unless there is a majority that wants this and stop making the ridiculous claim that the 2016 result was a mandate for this.
