I think Cyprus need to learn from the mistakes of Lebanon, government built on the individual one person one vote.

The pre requisite for a united Cyprus is for a majority of Cypriots from each Cypriot community to chose to believe they have more in common with Cypriots from Cypriot communities other than their own than they do with people who are not Cypriot. Attempts to achieve a unitary structure without this pre requist being achieved can and will only fail - this is what history shows.

...Cypriots believe this erolz.

Witness the Missing Persons Committee (Association of Relatives of Missing Persons and Victims of War “TOGETHER WE CAN”); they, are not "Greeks", or "Turks", and despite the decades they continue to pursue this cause, that Cypriots should be remembered for who they are, and that Cypriots, in all of "this" are not forgotten.

Witness the gathering, for Varosha, neither "Turkish", or "Greek", just a few days past. What were the youth of Cyprus, but Heroes, (Greeks against "Greeks" defending Turks,) having repelled the Elam blight that came to "politicise" the event, and failed. Indeed, what better way to expose "them", but with the Flag of Cyprus, and a gathering of people under it, as Cypriots.

"Being" Cypriot, may be a peasant kind of thing, i guess, coming from a "mixed" village, i don't know about city life. And even as a young person at sixteen, i knew who to avoid, where to avoid, because i was not a "Greek" (or a "Turk"), which left me exposed to (both) "their" Judgement. Such was the complexities of growing up hopeful (and male) as a Cypriot in the years just before '74. And, i may add, despite being torn apart, once a year as a village 'we' gather all these years. I digress from the subject but my hope is that my experience may be helpful in your own struggle with what "Cypriot" means.

...i wonder in our search for those to blame, how many are lost to us who are true Heroes; that despite "this" saved lives.

The place needs to be razed to the ground and rebuilding to make it inhabitable again.

The legitimate owners want compensation from turkey and she is bankrupt.

But,

This smells like (probably) another attempt to usurp other people’s property by the illegitimate regime.

Oversay is just another dope working for erdogan.

They don’t have the money and everything they touch turns to shit.

If you tally up all of turkeys liabilities over the decades, the country should cease to exist. Because they could not pay it back, even over 100 years.

In the end, the Turks don't have the money to rehabilitate the entire area and make it habitable.

It's all talk and hot air. Probably black mail.

No, the owners shouldnt be left to shoulder the financial burden to rebuild their properties and restore the city.

Turkey and the TC's should shoulder the financial burden and compensate them for destroying it. The legitimate owners can deal with the rest.

But First, Turkey and the TC need to give it back to its legitimate owners in accordance with UN resolutions.

well surely the owners are the best people to decide that too. at least they will have the choice of getting their property or refusing and asking for compensation.

do we all get this compensation before our properties are handed to us then?

mine go back to 1963, now thats 56 years of rent. how much does that come to per donum, can we say 100k per donum. i am not greedy. now work that one out over 5000 donums and pork kebabs are on me and the odd bottle of zivania thrown in for good measure.

No,

They get their property back plus compensation to restore it.

Turkey and the TC should pay the damages,

Where the hell does transfer of title come in to it?
