So this thread has thrown up two issues: How civilised is Britain? - and Russia's amazing superiority as a Nation. After a long and scientific research, I have come up with the following findings, comparing these two nations with other 'first world' powers:



Nation -- Inventions -- Major sporting activity

Germany -- Automobiles -- Soccer

Britain -- Stiff Upper Lip -- Lager Louts

US -- Telephone/McDonald's -- Baseball

Russia -- Gulags (Concentration Camps) -- Alcoholism
