...egad! Cyprus Mail, by purchase a puppet of the Euro elite

...sad news for Press Freedom if the facts alleged in this report are true.

https://www.occrp.org/en/daily/9301-fou ... yprus-mail

Andreas Neocleous, the founder of a Cypriot law firm which was found guilty of bribing a former deputy attorney general, acquired a stake in the Cyprus Mail, one of the few remaining independent media on the island. Almost immediately, the paper deleted its coverage of the bribery conviction from its website.

Perhaps he needed the paper to wipe his ass, since that is all it is good for. This place knows no boundaries for corruption and malpractice.

Many thanks for flagging this story up, which does not appear to have been reported anywhere else. I have found the Cyprus Mail to be a very useful source of information in English about events in this country, especially the insights it gives into seamier side of things - not least from the "Tales from the Coffee Shop" column in the Sunday Mail - so it is useful to know that it is likely to be muzzled from now on.

From now on? Those scammers would gladly take money from anybody. They have been running anti-Cypriot propaganda for decades now, but of course nobody would report anything on their other sponsors because these "NGOs" are sponsored by the same organizations and governments that sponsor Cyprus-Mail.

Cyprus Mail has a great readership all over the world.

I don't doubt that the readers enjoy the comments section, it is actually quite civil, compared to others as active, and before long it is not hard to figure the characters who write, what their intentions are, and their positions. I write, rarely will i occupy my time with the other people who comment, but for Cyprus, i will keep the record straight. And after all these years i still find writing hopeful, a powerful tool to that end.

...i just hope that they won't take ways to get rid of comments, like having to have paid subscriptions to add your thoughts to their archives.

CM deletes the comments that are not in line with the Turkish thesis. They support the Turkish side and you are limited to what you can say.

It needs a Charlie Hebrow visit to put it straight.
