Yes never mind driving 26 hours from Melbourne, 20 hours from Sydney and 12 hours from Brisbane to do skiing at Whitsundays assuming that by some miracle it snowed by the sea!
Come to Cyprus man, within just one hour drive you get anything you want.
5 minutes from your house is Pithias the greatest

Gee Pyro.

That's the whole point. Places like Australia are so diverse. From deserts to flooding plains, mountains to gorges, from Great Barrier Reef to lush green rain-forests.

Climates and seasons change. You have bitter cold to bitter hot and everything in between.

Things like the Troodhos are just an hour away, but yes if you live in Melbourne, the rain forests of Queensland are a 20 hour drive. You don't have rain forests.

Paphiti Not only all this diversness is within an hours drive in Cyprus but we’re not a solo country in the middle of nowhere. We don’t need to drive 20hrs. We have the Alps in 2.5hrs, the Aegean Sea in 30mins, Dubai in 3hrs, and yes....we have rainforests closer to Cyprus than your so called Queensland 20hr drive rainforests.

I’ve hopped on a plane and had dinner in Paris, breakfast in London, meeting in Milan and back to Cyprus before next dinner. Where you gonna go? Tasmania?

There is no diverseness DT.

Al you got is an arid climate with a couple of mountains and pine trees!

Diversity has a different meaning in my book.

The Blue Mountains are within an hour of Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne as well. But the same mountain range turns into Rain Forests further north. And the rain forest touches white sand beaches on the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef.

The Troodos might be impressive in Cyprus, but in Australia it is just normal stuff and taken for granted.

Believe me, there are forests in Australia that would rock your socks off. You won't find things like that in all of Europe. You will need to go to Africa or South America.

Australia is 831 times more diverse than Cyprus or doesn't "your rudimentary mental arithmetic" fit this case?

What I mean its far larger. So there are massive differences from North to South. Climates change, so does rainfall and temperatures and the landscape changes too.

Cyprus has a similar landscape to a lot of arid Australia. For instance, it has the same climate as Sydney, Adelaide and Perth. But we have Tasmania, which is closer to a British or French climate, same as Victoria, and we also have the tropics. That's diversity.

In the tropics for instance, there are no 4 seasons. Just the Dry and Wet monsoon season.

You've got things like Savannah Desert, Sandy deserts, to magical water plains, arid areas, forests, mountains and snow, to lush green countryside and of course the tropical areas which are very different. It's very different from North to South, East to West. It's a massive continent which accommodates such diversity. Of course, Cyprus being a small place can't accommodate this. It's a small island. I was just responding to people saying Australia doesn't have the diversity of Cyprus which of course is ludicrous to say. It's the other way around. Australia has a lot of diversity and many natural wonders like Kakadu, Litchfield, Great barrier Reef, Ningaloo Reef and we can go on. Also, many indigenous plant and mammal species only found in Australia. People come from all over the world to see it.

The same can be said of other huge countries. Pick anyone you like. Or pick any continent you like. The USA or Canada have diversity. Europe as a whole has diversity because they are big, therefore climates change from one end to the other.

Plus there is a lot of protection in Australia as nature areas are turned into National Parks which gives them legislated protection.

Kakadu National Park for instance is 20,000 sq km. About twice the size of Cyprus.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_n ... _Australia

Once again, I don't particularly care. But saying Cyprus has as much diversity as anywhere is a very shit statement. Cyprus has virtually no diversity, and it's treated like a garbage tip. That is my opinion. Cypriots have little regard for their environment judging by the litter on the roads.

I will compare Cyprus to Greece now.

I really love many parts of Greece as this is a place that does have some diversity from the Ionian Sea, to the Aegean, the South Peloponnese to Macedonia. It is an incredibly beautiful country. I much prefer Greece over Cyprus any day.

Wasn't Australia where the British used to send all their crap ?. Diversity it sure has but one has to travel for hours on end to get there. Its no wonder that such a large continent has such a tiny population.
Cyprus is small but small is beautiful, besides Cyprus has all the major European nations within a .....stones throw !!!

Yep that's right. Only 230 years ago, and now, it's got your number.

Yes, and the reason why we count ourselves lucky. We have a small population, great clean cities, great lifestyle, we are wealthy, and are a lot more nicer and have a better and more diverse lifestyle than what we would otherwise have in Cyprus or anywhere in Europe.

And we have hundreds of kilometers of ocean to keep all YOU lot OUT, because we only want hard working people that had to work for a living to feed their kids, even if that meant stealing a loaf of bread.

We only like the YANKS, and the Canadians because we are on their wavelength. So we have open borders for them. You LOT, are not welcome.

Plus we have detention centers and concentration camps for illegals. So unless you want to be water boarded because you are a masochist, Australia isn't for YOU! 8)

Let that be a lesson to anyone of you wanting to come here. The only person that is welcome, is LR.

The days when Cypriots went to Australia for one and only one reason as economic migrants have been over for years now. Why would anyone leave Paradise island and go to the world's end where he or she will be utterly isolated from the test of the world unless hours long flights are cherished. Fuck that mate, nothing against Australia but you can keep it along with your triple x piss water. Had you been lucky enough to be born in Cyprus you too would consider the island as your paradise. En eshi san tin Kipro koumbare.
