I don't need to read links to know there are freak mass shootings in the USA. Yes there are Gun issues. And in Cyprus there is more chance of getting killed by incompetent Government stupidity (such as Mari). Trump has grounded the entire US B737 Maxi fleet, which is one of the largest and most powerful companies in the world. Can a Cyprus President do that? In your wet dreams. Christofias didn't even have the balls to reign the Banks in even though he knew very well Cyprus was headed for a train wreck disaster, he still chose to bury his head like a spineless coward and now the austerity is twice as bad. You are a Banana Republic. Don't even put yourselves in the same category as the USA and don't start throwing stones because you guys in Cyprus are not even in the ballpark with with US. The USA is forward thinking. They are risk takers. They have made contributions to humanity that are unparalleled by anyone let alone a piss farty little Banana Republic like Cyprus. Of course Cyprus is small and the US is big. but there are lots of small countries in the world like Luxembourg, Monaco, Malta, etc which really do punch well for their weight.
But my statements are about general crime. When in the USA you still do not have the feeling that someone will come out with a gun and start shooting randomly at you even though it can happen. There is more chance of getting hit by a bus.
I am talking about more general crime, such as muggings, assaults, getting robbed, car theft, burglary, or being attacked. There is nothing unusual about the USA and BIG places like New York. In fact I feel it is safer these days in New York and LA than it is in Sydney and Melbourne or a Western European German or French City or even London.
In Cyprus case, you are comparing a city of 22 million people to Cyprus (under 1 million). I put it to you that Cyprus has more crime than New York as well. Much more crime.
Here is a link that tells you that US Cities are far more livable than Limassol (ranked 86). A fact I agree with wholeheartedly. I would rather live in New York than live in Limassol. My wife is actually a New Yorker herself practically as she lived there for 4 years. New York is where I met her in 2004 when I was briefly in Canada and visited New York. Speaking of which, Canada is an amazing country.
https://mobilityexchange.mercer.com/Ins ... g-rankingsMy wife completely loves New York and wants to go back. We have visited New York 6 times since and have even looked at buying some Condos there to rent and just have in case we ever go there or for the children because its an amazing place. We have a relative to manage these for us as well.
It helps because her cousin and good friend are both (one is a Cypriot and the other is from Peloponnisos) Estate Agents for the same Agency so we get emails about properties they are selling in Manhattan, Astoria, Whitestone, Queens etc. Her cousin's family owns half of Makarios Avenue as well, so a very wealthy family. But doesn't want to go Cyprus either and she was born and grew up there. She is now a New Yorker and will die a New Yorker. Center of the Universe! These people and my wife love it. Although it is a little too big for me, I still like it though. It has this affect on you, like nothing else. New York is a cult religion.
Seriously Pyro. You are way out of your league. The USA is fine. It has lovely cities like Boston (home of harvard), Philadelphia, Washington, New Jersey which I am so sorry to say, shit all over Cyprus 24/7.
