Haven’t read the article but my two cents is this: if China and the US are in a trade war then ultimately this will benefit the EU as trade will shift between US-China to EU-China (as well as other major Chinese trade partners such as Japan and Korea). This will have a knock on effect with the US however which will want to maintain its trade relations with the EU in order to benefit from this effect. Eg. Airbus should overtake Boeing in the Chinese market but due to the 1/3 alignment the US has with airbus it’ll have a positive effect for them as well.

The trade war (or potential for one - so far hasn't it mainly been tit-for-tat skirmishes?) is obviously a factor. But the foundation of the problem it seems is a significant slowdown in China's economy.

Apparently, they have dropped as low as a 6.5% annual GDP growth. Can you imagine that sort of "bad" national economic news back here on our planet?

The first few sentences of the BBC article more-or-less sums it up.

Anyone seen the Kuznetsov? :D

Tim Cook must be beside himself with remorse. Apple only made $84,000,000,000 profit in the last 3 months of 2018.
