The Army doesn’t kill anyone. If you are talking about war, that is different. The CNG is for the defence of Cyprus. Therefore it is their duty to kill any invaders.

The Army also saves hundreds of lives. Think about Cyclone evacuation, food and medical drops, forward field hospitals, bushfires, earthquakes, heavy airlift and so on.

If true it would make you a very unique exception, but the vast majority of 18 year olds rely on their parents for money and the law is designed for the masses not the rare exceptions.

Firstly, I would not believe you.

But even if that is true, it does not absolve you of your responsibility to the country and community as a citizen. Just because you earn big money or come from a rich family does not mean that you are exempt from this national service or that you should somehow be absolved of your responsibilities.

Also, you question is a very strange one.

In the USA, you can join the Army at 18, but not be of drinking age till 21.

You can also be legally qualified to fly a fighter jet before you learn to drive a car.

You seem pre-occupied with self, rather than your community and country. You will need to remember, that one day you will marry, and have children, and it is your responsibility as a parent to teach your children morals and ethics and to contribute to their community in a sometimes selfless manner. The Army will do you some good.

don't you realise the casino is set up to win. very few people win and eventually the casino will win even with the winers. gambling is a mugs game. at least gamble on the stock market where you have a chance to win if you know how to play the game.

It's a matter of responsibility and capability. In case of war you will feel the responsibility and you will be totally capable of defending yourself, your family and your Country. This is what the NG is preparing you for. Did you know you may join the NG at 17 instead of 18?
However you are not considered responsible enough to handle your money in a casino before the age of 21. The truth is there's no specific age over 21 when anyone can be considered responsible. That's the reason they set additional criteria e.g. a minimum income, however no matter what there will always be fish. Once the fish is caught it will go out broke in 2 weeks. Casinos make more money from fish than from "responsible" people. The cameras in a casino are not for security purposes. They are for catching fish.... Once a candidate fish is spotted there follows a certain procedure from professionals.
