Chinese National Debt Vs Australian National Debt

Postby Paphitis » Sun Dec 16, 2018 9:58 am

Chinaese National Debt to GDP is 49%

Australian National Debt to GDP is 19%

Who owns who DT? I think you will find that Australia has several Trillion invested in China.

Even Boomerang had a factory over there.

Well the data that you just posted doesn’t really say, just says what each country’s debt to gdp is.

If you wanna know who owns who then

China owns 1/3 of your foreign debt

You own pretty much nothing of China’s debt.

That’s right. They have more debt than we do.

The US is about 100% to GDP. But they are healthy.

Australia virtually hasn’t any debt and is about to post a surplus next year. China however will never post a surplus for 100 years.

Whatever debt China owns is still less than what Australia owns of China’s debt. Australia is the biggest investor into China.

Australia’s Debt is offset many times over because 1/3 of our debt isn’t a patch on their debt. Not even close.

There’s an easy to follow video at the end of that article that clearly shows why Australia would be fucked if China sneezes.

They have threatened have they?

Here is the problem DT...

The media love sensationalizing and talking nonsense. They love the doom and gloom.

Right now, Australia conducts overflights over contested Chinese islands in the South China Sea. They are threatened to be shot down, but the Chinese do not. Just like they will not engage Australia in a trade war. Why? Because they lose MORE. They won’t have the materials and resources to keep their heavy industry going to the same capacity.

So Australia loses 25% of its exports. Again, zero fucks given! Why? Because others will pick up the tab DT and buy Australia’s exports. They are in demand. So Australia will NOT lose 25% of its exports will it? It will lose a far smaller percentage. Maybe 10%, Maybe 5% and maybe 2%. No one really knows. All we know is that there are other countries that want top buy these resources. India for one. Even Pootin and Russia want in but there is an embargo against them.

20 years ago, Russia accounted for 20% of Australia’s exports. They were cut off just like that when we embargoed their arses. Australia was fine. It wasn’t a problem because China picked up the tab.

There are many markets and so no, Australia would be fine. The Chinese would have started their trade war by now but instead are begging for the trade war with the US to end. Last thing they are going to do is start a trade war with Australia.

Our Poseidons are violating their illegally declared airspace daily. Still no trade war.

They can’t afford it and we know that.

China also threatened Canada with a trade war. They told the Canadians to release the Huawei CFO. They didn’t. The extradited her to American Custody to face the US Legal System,

China is like the boy who cried wolf. They threaten but they don’t walk the walk.

So let me summarise this for you DT. I will make it simple for you.

ZERO FUCKS GIVEN BY AUSTRALIA.
ZERO FUCKS GIVEN BY CANADA.
ZERO FUCKS GIVEN BY THE USA.

We do not care if China starts a trade war. We literally do not care. Carefactor is ZERO!

You even said that China owns a third of Australia’s debt. But, Australia is owed 100 times more by China.

Paphitis, I am sorry but this cannot lead to any meaningful discussion.
Forget about the National Debt. That's money owned internally usually to boost growth.

What matters is the external Debt. ALL countries in the world have external debt. Why? Because everyone owes money to other nations.
What matters is not what you owe. Is what other's owe to you minus what you owe to others plus the assets you have abroad minus the assets others have in your country.**
China is a NET investor. Australia is a NET debtor at about the same level as Turkey! Putin is a net investor!

**Now if we sum up values from below we get the following:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_c ... ernal_debt
External Debt:

Australia 1,487,720
China 1,843,500

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Net_inter ... t_position
Net Foreign Investment
Australia: -738,897
China: +1,747,082

**Summing up:
Australia: about -2.2 trillion ---> 160% of your GDP
China: about -96 billion ---> 0.1% of their GDP

also Pahitis while you brag that Australia doesn't need, doesn't even want the Chinese, 25% of your exports are actually going to China.
Now if you consider that your exports to China amount to only 4.8% of China's imports it looks to me that if anything happens and the trade between you two stops you will be crying 5 times louder than them.

Directly from the Australian Dept of foreign affairs and trade:
https://dfat.gov.au/trade/resources/Documents/chin.pdf

China's principal export destinations, 2017

1 United States 18.9%
2 Hong Kong (SAR of China) 12.3%
3 Japan 6.0%
14 Australia 1.8%

China's principal import sources, 2017
1 Republic of Korea 9.9%
2 Japan 9.2%
3 Taiwan 8.7%
7 Australia 4.8%

We have send these to the South China Sea to maintain our great relations with China.

BTW, serial 001 has the good shit on it too. No one can go near it. I saw it a few weeks ago and we were not allowed on board (probably because it was getting ready to deploy somewhere). We were allowed on 004. Got a grand tour.

I hope the Chinese like it!
