Continue to deny this reality if you like and continue to insist that the events of 74 were merely about TC stealing from GC if you like - but do so in the understanding that you perpetuate and prolong division by doing so.
I agree with you that Turkish intervention did not happen just because TCs wanted to steal from GCs. There was a coup whose aim was Enosis (I don't care if someone says otherwise) Turkey had every right to intervene and most TCs chose to migrate to the north for a better life.
But at the same time, I cannot ignore the incidents followed after the Turkish intervention. For example, it's hard for me to explain to a GC why the names of the villages in the north were all changed to Turkish names, or why the churches were looted, or why so many settlers were brought to the island to occupy GC houses, and so on, if the aim was not "stealing". Maybe the intention was not stealing from GCs, but the intention was not mere intervention and restoration of the constitution either.
When you ask GCs to understand that 1974 did not happen just because TCs wanted to steal from GCs, you should also try to understand why GCs might feel that way considering what happenned after 1974.
