I didn't watch the video Pyro.

My opinion is that there are some strange and pretty advance technologies out there. I also believe in the possibility that there are cars that can drive well enough without any fossil fuels which are far more ahead of the game as Tesla and that cancer was cured a long time ago, as well as aids.

And no, America does not get people in on H1B visas as cheap labour to work on secret projects in defence or silicone valley. The H1B is just a working VISA. You are still covered under US Employment and Fair Work Practices.

In fact, the labour market in the USA is heavily regulated. For example, you can't get a live in maids in America, unless you were obviously wealthy enough to pay an acceptable minimum wage.

And yes, there is a brain drain from certain countries towards other countries like Western European countries, Canada, USA, Australia and NZ. That is because smart people look for opportunity and they find opportunity in certain countries like the USA but it isn't the only country they can find great opportunities in. Also, working conditions might be better.

If China and India have a silicone valley, then good luck to them. I look forward to seeing their answer to Tesla, Apple, Microsoft, Boeing and so on and so on.

And no, Americans are not dumb and 100% of PhD are not foreigners either. The video is absurd.

There are American of Native Indian heritage with PhDs, Irish American's with PhDs and there are African and Latin Americans with PhDs, and there are Germanic Americans with PhDs. It's a multicultural society.

In fact, the Americans have some of the best ivy league universities on the planet - Harvard, Columbia, and so on.

All human beings are virtually equal in the brains department. Our brains do not differ at all from one so called ethnicity or national grouping to the next. An African has the same mental capacity as a Caucasian. What differs is opportunity and education prospects. Impoverished countries are just unable to deliver the same outcomes as richer nations.

Not only are all humans the EXACT same, but our brain only differs by 1% to that of a chimpanzee.

So how you didn't watch the video and at the same time you know what the guy said??
The video is timed at the exact point where he starts talking about the H1B visa, which as he said (and I have no doubt about it) is given unconditionally to every foreigner who holds a PHD.
Now if you want to dispute his claim that at his system which is one of the biggest in the US, 100% of the PHD holders are foreign born, then what can I say?
Did you at least get his point?

I watched a bit of it and found the speaker to be a little too hysterical.

It sounded more of a rant to me than anything else. I couldn't be bothered because the H1B isn't sometning that is unique to the USA. Every country has a working VISA of sorts so it isn't exactly a "secret weapon". Australia has the 457 VISA which is exactly the same as the H1B.

What this guy was talking about was market dynamics.

America is always going to attract the "brains" because who on earth is going to say no to Apple, Google, Boeing, General Dynamics, Microsoft and so on?

Also, they are not the only country in the world that attract the "brains". So many other countries are in just as strong a position as the USA in attracting people to them.

If Apple went to your daughter or Son and offered them a H1B into the USA, would they say no?

The choices at this point are to:
1) stay in Cyprus and earn 600 to 1000 Euros in a shit job, or
2) Silicone Valley and work for a corporate giant like Apple.

I know what I would be doing...

I am at present just up the road from Silicon Valley. The air is smoked filled from forest fires in California. The sun is red when rising in the mornings and red when setting in the evenings. Some people walking around with masks on over their noses and mouths.
