Personally, I hope non of Turkey's projects works in Cyprus, because whatever they do, it is done as an occupying force and against the wishes of sovereign country of the RoC. What gives Turkey the right to violate other countries sovereign rights? Did Turkey not shoot down a Russian jet because it supposed to have violated Turkish airspace by less than a mile? So, I am against Turkey doing anything in Cyprus, because it may seem like a short term gain for the TCs, but it a long term loss for the TCs, as Pyro put it very well, that Turkey will be able to have complete control over the TCs as if it wasn't bad enough already at the present time. The fact that we have TCs who act like Turkish and not Cypriots, then they will have no one to blame but themselves. I want no part of anything coming from Turkey at this period in time to Cyprus. Once there is a settlement and Turkey leaves Cyprus and acts like a friendly European country, then let the part begin, but until then Turkey means nothing to me because they are only interested what is good for Turkey and not what is good for Cyprus or for Cypriots.
Kicks, I'm no fan of Turkey and am looking forward to the day when all settlers leave and we have a united island. The water project has been completed and has brought much needed water to your compatriots, at least feel a bit of comfort in that they're not having to ration water anymore.
I don't know you but I'm sure you're a good guy and probably a fun guy for a beer or 2. My only problem is you overplay your hand. You repeatedly state the obvious which is something that even the hardheaded GC's don't do anymore. ROC, Sovereign, Occupying, Violation blah blah blah. It's unnecessary imho.
I'm sure we could have couple of beers together and be able to shoot the shit and have a good laugh at each others expense.
That or two old farts trying to kick each others asses in the pub.

No the buoys are under the surface, here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-l1EGkCoNrY I'm no engineer but the whole concept looks fragile to me and prone to storm and current damage.
That's surprising to me because it was supposed to be the original design up until 2013 There were numerous video/descriptions from 2013 to 2015 saying the depth has changed from 280m to about 150m without any anchors at the bottom of the sea while the pipes would be hanging from buoys on top. However looking at the old topic all of those videos disappeared -youtube says they are currently unavailable! The only one available is this from the company that presumably manufactured the buoys as per original design.
Also initially the pipes were supposed to be ductile Iron, then changed it to plastic HDPE. The HDPE pipes were supposed to be manufactured by a Turkish company called Fitran (or something) then they switched to the German manufacturer.
Anyway I think that they actually placed 2 types of pipes. One as described in the original design and one very conventional and rather cheap Irrigation pipe about 12 inch dia at the bottom of the sea without any special protection or anything fancy. The first one failed while the 2nd one succeeded. They flow rate with which they seem to be filling the dam corresponds to the 12 inch diameter pipe...
