So the fact that you were the CY champions more times in the last 5 years than any of the other clubs enabled you to first try your luck in the CL and thus get the higher weighting.

Just by entering the CL you get higher "reputation points" than those who went straight to EL.


To sum this up... these are "reputation points" or a "weighting" as I call it.


So the fact that we win the Championship more times than any other team and qualify for the Champions league group tables we have more points.....ok agreed. :roll:

how does that fit in with your previous statement

As you already know I don’t support any particular team like fanatic fans do and will happily follow all those teams that make it to the European tournaments, which makes my opinion on their performance purely rational.

Having watched all the top 6 teams of the CY league on numerous occasions (Omonia the least), I can state with no emotional attachments whatsoever the following…

AEK: Currently the most balanced team in the CY league with the absolute best defense and a fantastic offense with the likes of Florian, Tete, and Trickovski going forward. Their near perfect passing accuracy and playful character make them an absolute joy to watch.

Apollon: An unrelenting and very effective attacking team with excellent midfield support but with a rather poor defense that often gets caught out. Of note is that Apollon is the only club in the CY league that boasts 2-3 sets of strikers that are just as deadly going forward.

APOEL: No strikers, a disjointed array of players… oddballs, goalie problem, I guess their best attribute is an OK midfield. They are very slow, very predictable and extremely boring to watch. All in all a frustrating team to watch that only a fanatic would love.

AEL: Love the yellows but they’ve made many changes recently and I’m out of sync right now.

Anorthosis: I thought they had their shit together until I saw how poorly they handled their mediocre EL opponent and was very disappointed. Can’t see them going to the EL next year.

Omonia: Another team with many changes that I haven’t looked into yet but I'm not holding my breath!

DT, I challenge you to sit down and watch a full AEK European match and I can guarantee you immense entertainment value and you’ll fall in love!

You’re comparing a jet ski with a 100ft motor yacht. Yes the jet skis more playful and exciting but when I’m going to Monte Carlo for the Champions League draw I’m not going with my jet ski. Sure the motor yacht may have issues sometime, need crew that doesn’t perform but at the end of the day I’m sitting in a yacht while it’s being fixed and not in a garage in Aradippou.

Apoel wins games in Europe because it has a culture and a history that gives it that arrogance to not care if there’s a striker or goalie missing. Aek doesn’t have a kiosk in its stadium let alone a club culture.

Glad we’re on the subject of football players...a subject you know as much about as I do about what to with that cup holder on pc’s.

Tamari, salai and zahid my friend are probably the best players on this island.

We seem to always start the year with you bitching about how shit apoel is, if I recall you recently did this and Apoel went to the final 16 of EL a few years ago. You did the same last year and we ended up winning the league again. You can be as challenged as you want on the knowledge of football and I won’t mind. But to come back year after year at the start of each season and to end with Apoel winning the league and humiliating you each time....like the joke goes...you don’t come here for the hunting do you?
