You have obviously just received your rose tinted glasses!

Nothing takes 3 days in Cyprus, even one day takes a month!

Even with a Cypriot wife, 40 odd years in Cyprus, and ministerial 'mesa', it took me 2 years to get Cypriot Citizenship.

That's only because you were intoxicated at the interview so they gave you the runarounds.

His answer was probably 'KEO' to every question asked!

Hi all, thanks for all the valuable input AND the humour! I have been calling the Civil Registry and Migration department every day. Only once has anyone answered the phone. They referred me to Consular Birth Certificates, but Ive had no luck reaching this individual - Ive even tried calling on a telephone instead of a bananna!

Thinking about contacting an immigration lawyer to find out definitively where I stand and the best way to apply. Im happy to invest the time and energy and file the application in Cyprus. If any one knows of any reliable professionals in this area please let me know.

Yamas!

Hey Steve.

I have recently been through the process and there is no point in calling anyone in Cyprus at the Civil Registry and Migration department as they never answer the phone or answer emails.

If I were in your position I think you should call the Cyprus Embassy in your current country (England?) and make an appointment with them to talk it over with them. They will be able to help you better than a lawyer at this stage.

From there you can make a decision on what you want to do further.
