Sotos wrote:As I wrote I got a 12% discount (€3650) on an Audi a few years ago and a few weeks ago a 9% (€1000) quoted discount for a small car. And I am referring to those two cases because I had shown serious interest (doing test drives etc). I got several more quotes over the years by just looking at a car and asking "what is the best price you can do" and I was always getting more than €500 discounts without even trying to negotiate. So €500 is certainly not the maximum, but more like the bare minimum. I'd say you should be able to get at least €1000 from any car, and a lot more for more expensive cars, especially when you add a lot of extra features.
I know in the past there were Agencies who kept slightly defective vehicles for those who were threatening them with arguments like "either you sell it to me at this price or I will buy the XYZ ". So be careful when you push for too much discount.
NB. Toyiota's are made in Turkey...
