As someone who knows virtually nothing about algorithm and how search engines work and do what they do, can I ask a stupid question?
As I have said on here I have found that GOOGLE has been infiltrated and doctored. I assume by the use of selected algorithms, to filter replies so that they are directed toward ‘approved’ web sites rather than the topic of the question asked.
In simple terms please ............ what is involved in creating a ELGOOG that does what GOOGLE does but in reverse? i.e. filters by the question content rather than by having preferred sources for that information.
A year or so ago, enter a question on any topic of current news value into GOOGLE and the independent channels had the same weighting as MSM. It is now dominated by the MSM and other ‘approved’ sources, which makes trying to get a balanced view far more time consuming. They have not blanked these sites out, as in censorship of the news, but are making it less likely that those independent views will ever see the light of day.
OR can you recommend a search engine that is less likely to have this sort of built in discrimination?
