Bill gates and Steve Jobs were also 'HSDs'. I myself am not a 'HSD' because I never entered 'HS' in order to be able to drop out. I left school at 16 and never looked back. Now I am not saying I particularly disagree with the idea that the chances that GR is able to to create a web browser (or search engine) that could challenge Google is in my estimation pretty close to zero. I am just saying the reasons why that is my personal estimation has nothing to do with his status as a 'HSD'. There are loads of other reasons why I think what I do but it would not be polite to list them here. All I am saying is HSD is not one of them. Nor do I want to appear to be saying GR should not try if he wants to. I am not saying this at all. I actually have some admiration that he is and does try, regardless of what I think his chances of 'sucsess' are.

This to me is more of a valid 'reason' to suppose why the chances are that GR could emulate Sergei or Larry are low, than 'HSD' status.

Sotos,

what is your professional opinion about Opera?

I put it on my machine and am over the moon with it. The reason why, is that I wanted to get away from Google and Google Products and tracking. I still use Google however because they give the best search results when I am looking for something in particular to buy for instance. I just prefer Duck Duck Go as a search engine for 90% of my Internet activity and Google for the other 10%

But I really like Opera. So lite and fast. Secure too with the Ghostery and HTTPS Add ons.

Also with battery saver mode, in built VPN and inbuilt add blocker.

I am also using Opera as my main browser for the past few months. The only disadvantage of Opera is that less extensions are made for it. However it has an extension which allows you to install Chrome's extensions from the Chrome Web Store: https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/ ... xtensions/

Nobody sets about to write a browser with the aim of toppling Google, or any other specific brand for that matter… but the idea is to write a browser that will hopefully over time, capture a market share large enough to attract sponsors, advertisers, royalties and the like. And that’s all there is to it.

The notion that I am aiming to topple Chrome is something invented by that pea-brained idiot Sotos, who out of jealousy and frustration always brings up Google and foolishly compares me with a conglomerate in the hope that he will crush my spirit and I’ll abandon the project he is so envious of.

As if that's ever gonna happen...

Neither Bill Gates nor Steve Jobs were High School Drop outs. They dropped out from university... Bill Gates was in Harvard. In any case I'd say it really depends on why you drop out. Somebody can drop out from university to peruse a great business opportunity, somebody might drop out because of financial reasons etc, but there are also people who drop out because they simply have great difficulty to learn things and keep up. There is more in education than just the formal one, and especially in this field you have to keep learning or your knowledge will be outdated very fast. I doubt that GR has ever read a book or took a course on anything related to this field. He is so clueless it is obvious he belongs in that last category of drop outs, the ones that are simply unable to learn anything properly.

OMG here we go again… the Cypriot peasant who has never worked outside of Cyprus (and we all know their “standards” in CY) and who has absolutely nothing to show for it, thinks he is in a position to evaluate someone like me!

Just go kill yourself fool… you'll be lucky to spell your name right!

That's good.

but what add ons from Chrome actually warrants that? never been a fan of add ons personally.

Only use Ghostery, and HTTPS everywhere and Turn Off the lights with Opera.

I have always said that you can have no significant market share at all, that it will be a total waste of your time and that you will never make any money out of this. So have you made any money from this? No. Will you make any money? No. You are just wasting your time, just like I said you would ;)

The Classic is here to stay and I will be expanding my market share and I will be taking an early retirement just as I planned, while you’ll be stewing in your juice over in Limassol.

Oh and I may also combine it with a full blown search engine just to watch you blow a gasket!

You should only add an addon if you have a need for it. My needs would be different than yours.

You will expand your market share from 4 to 9? It seems that you just lost Paphitis, so it will take you about 2 years to recover from that loss ;)
