Today I was very lucky to see a Hoopoe land in my garden for a few minutes.

It’s the third time this happened in the last 10 years so it’s a rare and wonderful sight!

Its name comes from its “oop oop oop” call.

In Cypriot we call it a “Bouboukshos” and you can read more about the bird here...

Absolutely! It’s quite large too… about the size of a dove.

In the bird's defense, unlike Yialoser it can sing more than one song.
