What an interesting series of posts ..........

Londonrake:

Up to 100 grams of liquid nerve agent were used in the attack on former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia, the head of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has said."

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/0 ... -watchdog/

"Deny, distract and blame': how Russia fights propaganda war."

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/201 ... ssy-london

The vast majority in the West see it all for what it is. (You mean for what they THINK it is?) Of more concern though is the relentless bombardment of anti-West propaganda that the population of Russia are daily subjected to, through their (State controlled) media. Touted hereabouts as a beacon of light and truth.

But they have access to BBC, CNN, Sky etc, so why are they not influenced by Western State owned/controlled media?

You are just soooo observant, can spot Russian propaganda a mile off but you don’t see the anti-Russian/Putin propaganda in the sources you have quoted? Don’t knock it before you have tried it ..... RT and Sputnik are remarkably free of propaganda, at least the International version.
Probably all a TLDR though.

No .... I read them both so I could answer from the point of being informed by your sources ..... well sort of? You should have got it from the ‘marvellous’ DM or maybe the equally entertaining Sun!

So, it wasn't fish food poisoning?

It was a toxin .... full stop. The OPCW don’t actually name it as far as I can make out! The unnamed authors of the DT article are making assumptions as even they have not seen the full report. ........ fish food poisoning is caused by a neurotoxin (that is the technical term for a nerve ‘agent’) known as Saxitoxin or STX which can kill in a very short time unless treated quickly. Found in abundance in Puffer Fish.

And the Russian Ambassador to the UK was lying when he said that Novichok didn't exist? It was a myth, created by the US.

NOVICHOC is a family of toxins (36?) not a single product, that The USSR researched with to see if they could create a digital nerve agent. There is no evidence to say they ever achieved it and that, as the US then acquired the formula from a Russian defector (who is still alive ) it could be said they have the same capability as Russia using the same research.

Even a former Czeck Prersident admitted just today (On RT .... so it has to be propaganda?) that THEY had it in small quantities before they destroyed it. So you are not thinking it out ..... you are letting propaganda get in the way of rationality. Take a tip .....you should ‘Question More!’

Like Israel's nuclear threats, nobody wants to go down that street, to the obvious and logical conclusion though. Fabrication

I will respond to that stupid comment later.
Lots of other Conspiracy Theories in there. A rich source. Take you pick really. What's today's?

You’ve just posted it!

Your comments show just what a pompous assed know all you are and completely devoid of the ability to question what you read. You just swallow the lot without question and you are certainly not alone! Now let’s apply a bit of simple critical thinking? I assume you do know the principal?

That then raises some obvious flaws in the tenor of your posted articles. So I have some points for you to consider.

1. Salisbury Novichok quantity suggests it was created as weapon not for research, says chemical weapons watchdog chief
2. The article you quote says up to 100gm of liquid nerve agent was used. (it would be amusing to see your explanation as to how that was achieved!)
3. The author then refines the quantity for those dumb asses who don’t work in gms to something they can relate too as ‘half a cup’..... or a very generous measure of Gin and Tonic. That should make it easy for you to relate to!
4. The ‘expert’ suggests it was ‘... created as a weapon’, implication being by a State organisation not some back street lab.
5. Mr Uzumcu told the paper the Novichok could have been applied as a liquid or aerosol .... so he doesn’t know it’s his guess or maybe he was ‘told’?
6. He goes on to say ‘I am told it may be 50, 100 grams or so,’ .....by who he doesn’t say?
7. He confirms that “.....the samples collected suggested the nerve agent was of "high purity".
8. The OPCW also defines the agent as being of high quality and almost devoid of impurities.
9. It would have killed anyone who came into contact with it is just a few minutes and there is no antidote.
10. In the OPCW report they say they were on site by the 19/3 and operating from 21 to 23/3. A bit late, I mean the Russians and the Syrians wiped the Douma site clean of all traces of chemical weapons in just a couple of days and that was dropped from a helicopter! I expect you believed that crap too?

The rest of the Telegraph article then goes off into the realms of concentrated propaganda. The Guardian article starts with propaganda and contains mainly regurgitated old news and more propaganda. So, nothing unusual there then?

What we have above is part what is attributed to this Mr Uzumcu interview reported in the NYT and in part some facts from the OPCW report. But to you, no doubt ....’pretty conclusive’ and all beyond question, after all it WAS in the DT?

Mr. Uzumcu is a Turkish career diplomat, an ex-Ambassador to Israel and Perm. Turkish Rep to NATO in Brussels. So he is an administrator not a scientist, chemist or toxicologist. Therefore any technical comments are those of others. I don’t know his affiliations or who his friends are.

We also know the UK government is 100% sure this stuff was spread on the door handle of Skripal’s house as this is where they found the highest concentrations. It took them three weeks to come to this conclusion and to boost the authenticity they claimed MI6/PD had evidence of the Russian lab that produced it and they had evidence the people there ‘..... ran experiments smearing it on door handles testing it as a means of application.’ Excuse me for being logical but that sounds like a load of bullshit to me!

To make that ‘100% sure’ scenario even more of a joke ...... did you not see the TV pictures of Laurel and Hardy in police uniforms standing a few feet away, guarding the door? Assuming this was not just for the camera’s ..... this stuff has been declared as ‘high-quality’ that means it is extremely toxic. People must have been going in and out of that door for some three weeks before ‘specialists’ removed it and guess what, no one after the initial three, was ever affected by this powerful nerve agent? It must have been bloody well everywhere in every room of the house ........ but the cat was put down because it was starving to death and the guinea pigs had already succumbed. (Oh .... and instead of their bodies being saved as likely evidence, they were incinerated!) Even small animals at ground level were not poisoned or the cat, who must have wandered all over the house looking for food. You find that credible do you ?

It was also all over Salisbury and May claimed had affected 135 people ..... bit of a fantasist , she obviously reads the Telegraph!

Did you see any of the Martians in decontamination showers .... No, neither did I! Saw several disrobing on the grass outside a tent pulling their shoe covers off and pulling their gloves off ......... PD health and safety would have had a field day.

So how did they get this 100gm of liquid on the door handle? Forgive me but my knowledge of fluid dynamics might be a bit rough after all these years, but doesn’t a liquid run of anything other than a flat surface? Or is there some sort of magic in the air around Salisbury that can get 100gms of liquid (or any quantity) to stay put on a less than level and also curved surface? Again not really credible is it, at least for those that can apply a bit of critical thinking?

So rather than playing the smart assed know all and mock those who actually do have the ability to question what they read, irrespective of their sources, maybe you should consider giving us a bit of credit for being infinitely more pragmatic and intelligent than you. If you believe this White Hall comedy put out by the UK government regarding the Skripals, you are either incredibly stupid and gullible or irreversibly brain damaged.

Where the Russia media gains over the MSM is that they DON’T build up a silly story that a child could see was a fairy tale, their news reports are usually quite short and fact base. They rarely blame the West .... just sometimes they state the bloody obvious! The Russians have not changed their story one iota since day one ...... THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE! But mouthpieces like you for western propaganda instinctively KNOW they are lying but can’t explain how because their masters have convinced them it would adversely affect National Security!

You only have to look at your posts and even more hilarious, those of Paphitis to see you are just brain washed puppets incapable of actually analysing what you are fed, you just soak it all up ..... and blame Russia because that is what you are programmed to do .... whether you like to recognise that or not!

The official story stinks and is so full of anomalies it is obvious that the only plausible reason for it ..... is to cover their backsides for the pantomime they have created and the fall out if they get caught out. So far I will stick to fish poisoning, in the restaurant ..... and we will never see in the flesh, either Yulia or Sergei Skripal again, it has gone too far to let them free.

Is that an admission that what you posted, no doubt in good faith, was not correct? I told you it didn't look right in my last post ..... oh. I forgot TLDR .... so you missed it!

Quote:

Within hours of the report, however, startled chemical weapons experts were challenging the figure, insisting a miscommunication    had occurred. A statement from the OPCW on Friday said the organisation “would not be able to estimate or determine the amount of the nerve agent that was used”.

It added: “The quantity should nonetheless probably be characterised in milligrams.”

It is not clear how Üzümcü made his error.

Miscommunication, is that what they call it?

Thank goodness he wasn't a Russian 'expert' that I posted, that made the pronouncement on RT or Sputnik ..... you would have required....... NAY .......demanded a banner headline apology!

Well it looks the newspapers are very good in manufacturing their own fake news...
Last time the Guardian was supposedly quoting from New York Times...
Point is nowhere does the OPCW correct it's own director.
It just answers questions from the media.
Quoting verbatim
In response to questions from the media

For me there has never been an interview on the first place....

Thanks Pyro but nay :D

You seemed to believe yesterday that the whole interview thing was Fake News. I couldn’t see why. Papers like the NYT interview senior figures in science/politics, etc routinely. Why not the head of the OPCW?

My point being, how often the most absurd items from so-called “independent” and State run mouthpieces are immediately accepted, whereas even relatively tame articles from the MSM are contemptuously discarded, out-of-hand. Unless it tends to support the poster’s view - which is entirely different of course - and not at all hypocritical. In that I am not pointing a finger at yourself.

The man had obviously exceeded his brief in the interview and was quickly and publicly corrected for it. Something which I had no compunction in posting.

Did he? I don't see that in the bit I cut and pasted! The rest of his post was just sarcasm which is why I cut it out of the 'quote' as an irrelevance. Sarcasm, obfuscation, distortion and innuendo, is something LR excels at! English 'humour' is something I have found Cypriots find difficult to understand!

A little story:  When we finally moved here in 1994, we imported a 'tax -free' car. To register it we had to go to Nicosia ..... which we did at least 6 times, as every time they wanted different/more papers. On the last visit we went into see the same young lady and I said to her in a Joke "I think we have got everything this time ..... the only thing we couldn't find was ....THE DOG'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE'!

It went down like a lead balloon. She looked at me, no smile just a curious look and said "Why would you need the dog's birth certificate. She was serious.

BTW I: I have to admit that RT are giving this story a lot of air time .... for once they are getting their own back at MSM 'fake news' aimed at them.

BTW II: RT to day..... 'Going Underground'..... an interesting interview with John Pilger on the subject of journalists, journalism in general and where the MSM journalist are failing their readers. I think they repeat it through the day ..... worth watching.

Then they asked for a comprehensive list of my daily expenses in Cyprus, so I obliged.
14 bottles wine a week = 100 euros
