I can’t think of a reason why your criminal country shouldn’t be nuked considering all the death and destruction it has caused to countless states/peoples over the decades… even to this day it is still meddling predominantly in Africa and the ME!

If you count them they are actually 6 including Cyprus. Finland itself has borders with Russia.

If we were member's of NATO, we would not be divided today.

This is an argument often heard from people who either know nothing on how this could be done or total ignorants of the history of the Republic.
May I remind you that both before as well as after 1974 we were proposed various plans for official partition of the island that also included handling a huge part of Karpasia to the Americans to build a base.The 2 British bases would also stay. So not only we would be officially partitioned, we would on top of it, not even be Nato members, as all other normal member countries are. We would simply be Nato servants.

Secondly, when exactly do you think the Republic should have applied to join Nato? Do you have any idea about the limitations of our constitution? Do you e.g. know that presumably we were "quaranteed" by 3 Nato members? Do you know that according to the constitution Cyprus should not have a real army but a small force of about 400 men (40% of which should be TCs) armed a bit heavier than simple police? Do you know that the National Guard was actually unconstitutional?
So on what grounds do you think we should have applied to join Nato?
And why Nato should not laugh at us idiots who had nothing but a small army of clowns to offer, let aside the rest of the limitations of our constitution?

This argument that Cyprus should have joined Nato might theoretically look right, in practice however is as naïve as it can get.

And Pootin is the one that claimed he was an Atheist under the Soviet era unless he was not telling the truth to appease his Soviet masters. Don't forget he was a KGB agent, and he would have to tow the Party line and that means Atheism. The Orthodox Church was persecuted in the Soviet era.

There are thousands of Cypriots that are currently studying in the UK, and America and all those that have studied in America and the UK are now only just starting to find themselves in prominent positions in Government. The hysterias of the past are vanishing.

It looks you didn’t even read the link I gave you. Today it’s quite the opposite, less than half are the numbers of young Cypriots studying abroad compared to 20-30 years ago. The reason is because we now have our own Universities. Greece is the #1 preference for those who study abroad follwed by the UK. That’s it, very few in other countries including the USA.
As for your assumption that those who study in the UK or elsewhere abroad get more prominent positions in the Government (compared to the past) it’s just not true.
The biggest number of public servants were always the teachers, the vast majority of which graduated either the University of Cyprus or some other University in Greece.

The guy is intelligent enough to understand that a Nuclear Holocaust isn't really on the cards, and he also understands that Nuclear Armaments are virtually obsolete now except for being a deterrent to war.

Erm mate, the UK is a bit of a global beacon. One of the most desired of Nations with freedom for its people.

You can live the life you want there. The weather is a bit woeful but other than that its not too bad I suppose.

I got a reason why the UK shouldn't be Nuked. Apart from the rest of Europe succumbing to the fallout, about 350,000 Cypriots live there.

A Curious Incident Part VI by Sushi for the Saker Blog

This series of articles commenced as an investigation of a curious incident: the alleged poisoning of Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury UK on March 4th, 2018. The series represents an attempt to collect and sift the available relevant evidence. Links to prior work may be found at the end of this article.

It is now believed sufficient evidence exists to elevate this curious incident to the level of “Skripalgate.”
On March 28th, the Police Service announced their theory of the case: that a toxic agent believed to be an organophosphate poison in the VX family of the type developed in the UK and militarised at Porton Down, was found in the highest concentrations on the door of the Skripal residence. The police thesis is that contact with the door handle was the means of poisoning the Skripals.

For the reasons which follow, this claim by the police provides evidence to support the assertion the curious incident of Sergei Skripal, and his daughter Yulia, is a false flag.

General Introduction to the Toxin

Vladimir Uglev was one of the Soviet researchers actively engaged in the FOLIANT program, the Soviet program for developing Next Generation Agents (NGA).

Uglev claims to have worked on these nerve agents “from 1972 until 1988.” In his March 20th, 2018 interview with The Bell he claims the Soviet research on NGA, and his own participation, ended approximately nine years prior to Russia joining the OPCW, the international body which seeks to regulate chemical warfare.

At the time the FOLIANT program ended the Soviet Union was in a state of collapse. Russia denies any involvement in a research program involving a NGA called “Novichok.” This is an accurate statement for three reasons: 1) Novichok refers to the attempt to develop binary forms of the NGA developed under the FOLIANT program not to any unique NGA; 2) Novichok may also refer to a deception operation intended to confuse the Amercians. It was this deception operation that lead to the original arrest of Vil Mirzanov; 3) The FOLIANT program was operated by the U.S.S.R. The Soviet Union underwent a complete collapse and disintegration at this time and was a very different entity from the present day Russian Federation. This point seems to be missed by a great many writers who conflate the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation. The German Democratic Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany are two very different entities. The same is true of Russia and the U.S.S.R.
