...the message is clear.

We can wait for the EU, (whatever that is) to help itself. And in the mean time remember the solidarity the same EU expressed toward Cypriots during the Financial meltdown. If we are to listen to their advice, and that of the UN, a solution to the Problem, by Cypriots, would be helpful. Erdogan relies on the dysfunction that was created to keep Cypriots apart; if not for "Greekness", in Cyprus, "Turkishness" cannot survive.

...i am suggesting that while Turkey intends to transform Cyprus into an image of itself, Cypriots can do the same, (at this very moment) create a Cyprus that transforms Turkey. Let's face it, Turkey, those Turkish but not "Turks" in Turkey as in Cyprus need help. Constitutional reform is needed, in Turkey and in Cyprus, more so a representation of Universal values, exposing "Greeks" and "Turks" for what they are, neither Greek, or Turk.

...curious GR, do you have among your family members, missing?

You are old enough to remember; this hatred you have, did it exist before 1974, did it exist GR before 1963? Did it exist before 1950? I come from a "mixed village". Perhaps my perspective is different because of it, but to me there is a difference, Cypriots exist. They are not "Turks", that is for sure, neither are they "Greeks". Easy to be hateful, plain to see, you will get a lot of support for that. That is the Problem, isn't it? My family paid a big price. It was not for "Greekness" we stayed. What with the sentiments you express toward me, it seems we do not agree on the value of "being" a Cypriot; it seems to me you are, you have become, a "Turk"/"Greek", or some deep seated fear within your self which you dare not overcome has made you no different to them.

...pardon me, as i've said GR, i cannot rest, i won't have my family buried in graves unmarked, murdered, so that what they are, Cypriots, is forgotten.

Says it all.

Cyprus was not created to "transform" Turkey! None of our beeswax.

We are not here to mother Turkey or do ANYTHING for Turkey.

When all is said and done, Turkey does not have to exist: as it didn't for thousands upon thousands of years.

Turkey does NOT define Cyprus.

Now, how about seriously answering the question posed previously?
(not sure why I want your answer as you have been exposed as another ignoramus about Cyprus)

...if we can do something for ourselves that brings hope to people with the same Problem, all the better for Cyprus; don't you think?

...no GIG, perhaps you should re-read my post, i am not happy with the way things are; I am a Citizen of the World, i believe in Universal Principals, I know the difference between Freedom and Liberty, i am willing to respect and recognise that the diversity of our ethnos depends on these convictions unwaveringly. It is not for Turkey i suggest Cyprus think bigger, it does indeed Free us from "Turks" (and "Greeks") though, if in Cyprus this respect and trust exists, as Cypriots to have such a capacity, to act, as Cypriots.

A recognition exists which cannot be denied, how is it Cypriots can take hold of the Agenda; only if the Flag of Cyprus flies in the territory that is occupied.

Furthermore it may be a starting point that Erdogan cannot refuse, now that it is clear on what he has based his objection.

There won't be any solution, ever RW, not even the return to the 1960 agreements.
There is NO pure TC will left anymore, the very few real Tcs who wanted a solution like Akinci, Talat et al have all been stringed by Turkey to do as she pleases.
In short what they want is a two state solution in which Turkey will do as she pleases in both states.
Anastasiades has given them EVERYTHING, our properties our rights EVERYTHING, all settlers would stay, not even one GC refugee would return and get his home back, with the exception of the few Varoshiotes who would get ruins.. And the biggest hidden truth is that the popultion ratio after a solution would actually be 1:3 do you realize what this means? They wanted full share of power and veto at every tiny level, they translated political equality to either arithmetic or veto power al ALL levels and Anastasiades had given them ALL. He was about to give them guarantee and intervention rights like he did with the Anan plan. In fact they expected him to do so, I mean what would be more natural for a leader who actually accepted such things a few years ago? However "Anastasiades the Tiger" eventually realized the people would not accept such a solution and backed off.

Let's face it. The Turks don't want ANY SOLUTION other than partition. Even if a miracle ever happens they will invent unimaginable new things to derail it. For example to demand that all 80 million Turks get EU rights in free movement and settlement in Cyprus (on the excuse that the mainland Greeks have such rights) and even if we accept that, then they will ask for the next impossibility, that the solution becomes primary EU aquis.
I guarantee you next thing they will remember is that Turkeys EEZ extends 200 miles hence it covers all Cyprus' EEZ, in affect asking us to donate them the hydrocarbons too. And even if we accept that, they will ask to built them 50 mosques in Athens... Anything you can imagine.

THE TURKS DON'T WANT A SOLUTION. .They want capitulation. Forget it.

...i don't despair; what the "Turks" want. I know that there are Turks, not unlike anyone else on this planet that have a yearning for Freedom, and who are willing to recognise, respect and trust, as Individuals those unlike them as Persons, for their own Liberty.

...in Cyprus, if we free ourselves from the debate as it is framed, "Turks against Greeks", "Greeks against Turks", there exists a Cypriot context exposing what has been denied for so long, that "Greeks" and "Turks" are the same, on the same and opposite side because they are (this thinking is) not Cypriot.

...is it revolution to think that minorities always exist? It is in a world where the debate divides people by their genealogy, for "purity's" sake.

If i were to reform the Constitution, I would look more closely at the Communal Chamber; too long ignored. And if i was the one to make changes, i would have every Citizen be given the same power in their vote for the Republic's Legislature. The President, neither Greek or Turkish, but Cypriot, to lead, is elected on merit. No rotating Presidency, but a Vice President that is this President's partner in that they come from different Constituencies.
