That they were not on the list.....
There are a lot of anomalies, for exemple how Cellist - idntified in the Panama papers - (who is a close friend of Putin ) is seemingly worth USD 2 billion supposedly on the back of trading instruments - but the informed view is technically Putin has little wealth (beyond some very expensive watches - which beg questions about the circumstances in which he got them) as it all (at least on paper) is held by others.
Exactly! It's all tied up in trusts and in offshore accounts in places like Canary Islands and Panama and in different names.
Also, apparently in Cyprus there are a number who were a little upset to not even rate a mention with Pootin's money laundering activities even through Cypriot banks at one point. This is what was propping up the Cypriot banks at their peak. It wasn't Cypriots that helped the banks get 5 times bigger than the Cyprus GDP which is unheard of in any other country other than Switzerland. It was probably even a factor in their collapse if all these billionaires ran on the Banks.
I don't know of any countries that buy their President or Prime Minister watches that are worth more money than an Italian Lamborghini or Ferrari.
You don't buy watches like that unless you gout money to burn. I can understand that a well off person might buy a Ferrari or Lamborghini, but you wouldn't buy a watch worth that much.
In your opinion of course!
Ibramovitch is supposed to have bought Putin a multimillion dollar yacht ...... but there are no pictures of him sailing on it ..... and the 40 odd aircraft and helicopters he is suppose to own do not belong to him .......and neither do the multiple palaces. I would expect people who wanted Russia on their side to give him presents like expensive watches, after all he is The Head of State. As such he would also have friends who are very rich ...... but have we even seen his wife or children flashing off their Fathers wealth? Does Putin have members of his family in top positions in the Kremlin like Trump has in the White House? Does Putin fly down to one of his estates every weekend at the tax payers cost, with all his family, body guards and civil servants ........ just so he can practice JUDO on one of his properties in St.Petersbergh? Have you ever seen Putin arrive on a foreign visit and compared it to Trumps arrival ..... Putin really does it on the cheap!
It all part of the Putin/Russia bashing which is about all the US can do ..... Putin rarely comments on such stupidity and when he does he treats it for the joke it is. It is that which singles him out from the Drama Kings and Queens in the Wests political/diplomatic pantomime who need to make themselves look important. Look at his achievements on behalf on the Russian people and the Russian State ...... not just the hype of the MSM.
No it isn't just my opinion.
The British are renowned for having transparency throughout all levels of their Government. No one is above the law.
Russia isn't renowned for anything that is anywhere near Britain's transparency and on top of that, most citizens are afraid of Pootin.
You will never find a Russian that has anything good to say about Pootin outside of Russia. I know many, have not found one. Has anyone found one? I doubt it.
And of course none of that belongs to him. All these Oligarchs buy Pootin all these gifts because much of their wealth is from Pootin himself. they are either thank you little "gifts" or repayments for rorting the system, or they are laundering pootin's own wealth for a fee of course. But don't ever forget, that during Perestroika, these Russian Oligarchs ripped off many of the former Soviet Union's assets. It was a free for all, and billionaires were made overnight.
When have you heard of corporations buying a President of any of our Western Countries a gift? In our world, it would be seen as corruption and it will lead to impeachment.
I remember someone gifting Australia's Prime minister with a Bottle of Grange Wine (worth $3000) once and all hell broke loose over it because our PM was stupid enough to say something about it.
