In the 50 previous years we had no hydrocarbons to entice Turkey, the then presidents were probably better than those of today, and today we just have Turkish cock sucking presidential hopefulls, who knows what they have been promised. anyway, I just hope you are right and would gladly lose the bet, but somehow I doubt it.

You can easily test whether having such a bet is a good idea in this way:

 Tell us how the establishment of a TC state, would benefit Turkey.

Everyone can join in by enlightening us what’s in it for Turkey… and if you’re a TC you should be ESPECIALLY concerned about this.

So what’s in it for mommy boys? :? It better be good too...

Theoritically speaking, the establishment of a legitimate TC state would allow the citizens of this TC state to practice their "right of self-determination" and, through a referendum, choose to legitimately become a province of Turkey.

The same thing happened to Hatay.

The RoC that has rejected a TC state outright for 44 years and counting, would never accept a political arrangement that contains such holes.

It would be some water-tight, air-tight, and Turko-tight volume of laws that dash any hopes for such stupidities. They weren't born yesterday!

I think you are going to live to eat your words GR. If Malas gets in we are truly fucked, if the other traitor gets in at least he knows his limitations.

Anyway, time will tell.

I prefer to use the past 44 years of recorded history with which to predict the future, as opposed to grandma’s lamentations!

Grandma obviously hasn’t been paying attention the last 44 years so all she can now do is scratch her head and cry… :)

You still haven't informed us what's in it for Turkey to back your theory... if there's no HUGE carrot for Turkey, they won't be approving any states for a handful of stranded Ottomans.

Turkey is not stupid... the stranded Ottomans definitely are.

Malas' special hole is moist for Turkey and all our Turkish Cypriot "brothers".

On the other hand, Anastasiades will just follow instructions from that one very special neighbor country that currently doesn't like Turkey that much and will give him the green he likes so much.

I can guarantee you that if you were to hand over the entire Cyprus with which to form a “TC state” and for the native Cypriots to go jump in the sea and drown, Turkey would still reject it because the formation of such a state would mean the instant departure of the Turkish military and thus loss of control of/from Cyprus!

In other words, Turkey is currently in control of 37% of Cypriot territory while a Cyprus “solution” (any one of the myriads of plans) would mean their control dropping to 0%, so why would they want a “solution”?

Rest assured that an elected Malas cannot change Turkey's mind... :)

So what happens if an elected Malas pulls his pants down? :?

If an elected Malas was to pull his pants down and start walking backwards across the roadblock and into the occupied territory, while the foolish Ottoman remnants would most likely give him a standing ovation… once Malas reaches the very first representative of Turkey he’ll get kicked in the arse all the way back to the roadblock… for Turkey doesn’t appreciate any disturbances to the precious status quo!

The UN would NEVER stamp and approve the formation of any new state while Turkish troops remain on it. It just doesn’t work like that and Turkey knows it!

There would have to be a Turkish troop departure plan put forward and implemented, in parallel with the formation of such a state.

In other words, Turkey goes from controlling 37% of territory, to NOTHING within a year!

Is it any wonder Turkey won't budge!

So, does MrH have any other clever ideas under the circumstances? :?
