cyprususa, if your parents got the Cypriot citizenship after your father was born, and your father never got the citizenship, then I doubt he can get it now. The only way he could get the citizenship through his parents is when he was dependent on them. Now its probably too late. But.. they could use their family history in Cyprus to get long term resident permit and then after living in Cyprus for 7 or so years apply for citizenship. So living in Cyprus is not that difficult, but getting the citizenship will probably take at least a decade.

True Cypriots are not born and raised in South Africa. And what is "brainwashing" according to you? It seems you misunderstood the term. We are all born with very little in our brains other than our instincts. Everything we know, our personality and our beliefs depend to a great degree on our environment. My environment as I was growing up was Cyprus and that is why I grew up to be Cypriot and speak Greek as all native Cypriots do for 1000s of years. You grew up abroad and therefore you were "brainwashed" to be a foreigner... your language and your culture is not the same as that of the native Cypriots. You can get the Cypriot citizenship... anybody can, but you will never be a native Cypriot because you have already been "brainwashed" to be something else and at your age there is nothing you can do about it. Just accept who you are and stop trying to fake it and pretend you are something else. The same goes for GR.

There was NEVER a period in Cyprus’ history when it was “Greek” or had any association with Greece (Greece was only invented in the 1820s!) other than both regions along with many others being under the rule of the Eastern Roman Empire (330 – 1453AD) which was a ROMAN empire not Greek!

Cypriot culture is as Greek as modern Greek culture is Greek. Wether we Greek speaking Cypriots decide to view ourselves as part of the Greek sphere or as a seperate population, our history is very well documented and doesn't need the smartasses of both sides trying to "beautify" it according to their agenda.

As far as genetics are concerned, we are a population in between Levantines and South Europeans. We are not full blooded Levantines nor full blooded South Europeans.
