Hello!

The ol' lady and I are traveling to the beautiful land of Cyprus in a few days, and I'm wondering what the protocol is with regards to bringing in alcohol.

We want to bring in as much as *legally* possible, and we want to repackage it in plastic bottles to safeguard against breakages. We'll be bringing 40% vodka, and possibly our own mixed drinks that are 10-15% alcohol.

My questions are: how much are we allowed to bring in? And will we be given any trouble for repackaging alcohol in plastic bottles?

Good grief... you sound like the kind of tourists Cyprus can do without!

If you repackage anything consumable it’ll most likely get confiscated the world around let alone Cyprus, because nobody likes germs/bacteria/fungi or other undesirables entering their country.

Why bring any alcohol in?..just as cheap if not cheaper to buy local..

How are you travelling and where from? If from within the EU then any quantity if for personal consumption, but then if by plane you have luggage limits and You should really talk to the carriers who may have limits on quantities of flammable liquids (as 40% Vodka is), in particular in repacked bottles.

BTW plastic bottles are NOT breakage proof.

Clothing makes a wonderful wick.
