If our flag and folk songs were different would it make any difference? And even if some TCs helped eradicate malaria, wouldn't malaria be eradicated anyways at about the same time? A far more serious problem for Cyprus is the Turkish expansionism... the Turks have killed 10s of thousands of Cypriots and are still illegally occupying 1/3rd of Cyprus. The Turks are a far bigger problem to Cyprus than Malaria. Therefore, if you add your small contributions and you subtract the massive damage you have caused then your net contribution is negative. We would have been FAR better off if the Turks had never set foot on our island. I am sorry if what I say sounds harsh... if you had finally changed and agreed to a truly free and democratic Cyprus then there would be no reason for me to talk about the past. But unfortunately the Turks remain as aggressive and harmful today as they were in 1570.
