RoC does not have the military strength to win a conflict against Turkey. It would be very unwise of them to start a war.

Turkey has no interest in attacking RoC when, after a short war, they would have to govern a GC population who would not be happy about the situation.

It is difficult to believe that the EU countries collectively would agree to unprovoked military action.

Turkey has lost in Northern Iraq, Syria and losing badly in Cyprus. The hydrocarbons will flow from Israel, Cyprus to Greece and the rest of the Eu. The threats from Turkey against this, are taken as a joke by all players involved. As big of a joke as a Turk in a suit and tie, threatening that they will dig for oil outside of the fenced city of famagusta, if noble digs in Cyprus' Eez that borders Israel.

Much though I would like to see the departure of the Tur*ish military and the Post 74 Anatolian incomers, with return of property, etc, , I regretfully cannot see on what current basis anyone is going to take action to expel Turkey and the settlers. It has not happened in 43 years and as matters stand regrettably I cannot see it happening anytime soon.

As it happens I was speaking to someone over the weekend who was on the shores of Famagusta at the time, he explained to me that all the battalions were ready and had they been utilised thousands of Turks would have died and ships sunk, but the traitors ordered all the troops to leave Varosi and the complete city was left unattended with only the civilians, women and children that your armies boasted about dealing with.

So, now, it'll be a different scenario, yeah, you have air superiority, but you still have 800,000 people through urban warfare to deal with, I doubt it'll be a walk in the park.

...i will remind you GUGO that the Turkish Army has failed to eliminate the Kurdish "threat" in Turkey, as it has failed to eliminate the other half of the Cypriot population not Greek, or Turkish. While i agree with you that "Greeks" and "Turks" exist, so too those Turkish and Greek not "them".

...allow me to remind you as well that a 800,000 soldiers is nothing against a small group of people just as determined, with a sense of Justice.
