With the embarrassing losses the Turkish army has experienced in Syria and the almost "toddler" like reactions to the lawful drilling activities by a calm and calculating Republic of Cyprus, one must begin to wonder. Is Turkey toothless? Is the army in disarray?
Take the drilling off plot 11, Turkey has thrown the kitchen sink at Cyprus with regards to threats ranging from frigates to placing a platform on one of the Islands plots. Well the frigate has kept itself out of the platform exclusion zone and their attempt at setting up their own platform has failed miserably as every company they've tried to lease from has turned turkey down flat (turkey trying to buy now).
So how far can turkey push this? Having been warned by the Americans to stay away from Cyprus's plots ( Last time they tried this, Hillary as State Secretary told them to piss off and suddenly all ships returned to port.) should provocation lead to action, will the Turkish army comply with erdogans orders? Or would it just be the perfect opportunity to overthrow this madman once and for all?
My hunch is that we're going to see a little action soon, but it won't be for cyprus, it'll be for erdogan.
