For many years I have enjoyed many of times driving and motorcycling on Highway 1, the coastal road in California. The most impressive section is from Monterey/Carmel to San Luis Obispo, about 100 miles stretch taking about 3 hours with many stops at lookout points. Well, it is once again closed just south of Big Sur due to one section of the roadway slipping into the Pacific Ocean as it has happened many times before at different locations. I expect this closure of the highway will last a year or two costing millions of dollars and denying the pleasures of many driving/riding on this highway.

I imagine if you just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time you wouldn't have gotten much pleasure.

I say not. :D

To think that I had crossed that sections many of times is a little bit wary to see that gap.

I’m sure Even Knievel would have welcomed such challenge.

Thanks DT.

It would have been a nice ride for you, all the way from San Francisco to Los Angeles via Malibu along the coast.

It was this type bike I had for 33 years, except mine was a Kawasaki Z900, with 4 in 1 Kerker pipes also. Lots of power, made for Highway 1. :D

It was right at the end of a month’s SF to SF circular tour of the western states. I wanted to do that drive and Mrs LR has a thing about Clint. 8) :D
