For that statement to have any meaning it has to go hand in hand with an ability to determine who and what are peaceful protesters. The example of those at Lafayette square when Trump went for his campaigning photo op, shows that you lack such an ability and thus your claims of having no problem with peaceful protesters is worth exactly nothing.

Peaceful protesters mean just that. people marching, with their banners and posters, in the streets, and not harming the public, police, or destroying private property.

They had their chance Kikapu.

Now trump has announced the curfew to restore order, so yeh, if they are going to violate that, the police have every right to move them on.

the USG has every right to declare a state of Emergency because that is exactly what it had to do. And in addition, ordinary citizens would be forced to practice social distancing by the police. Why are they contravening that in the face of a Chy-na Virus emergency which in the States is extremely bad?

The police, nat guard and USSS attacked these peaceful protesters BEFORE the curfew had started and all you can do is defend this action. You just show how sincere you really are when you claim to respect and admire the US Constitution as far as I am concerned.

So how many cars did they upturn before hand, or how many shops did they loot and how many rocks did they throw at the police?

How many police officers have been assaulted in this hysteria?

Don't tell me that the narrative is that the police attacked peaceful protesters because that's not the case.

I have no problem at all with peaceful protesters, and fully support the constitution of the USA, and according to that, people have the right to conduct peaceful protest in the USA. But, these protests, were not peaceful and as a result, there is now a curfew.

the public have a right and pay taxes to sustain a police force to protect their property and safety.

What I am saying is that if we want a better society we have to get better at identifying the things that we think are wrong. This tendency to identify things that are wrong with the 'other side' whilst ignoring exactly the same 'wrong thing' from our own side , even when the degree of it is demonstrably worse, is no route to any progress and is part of the problem. What is more it is part of the problem that each of us has direct personal and totaly control over as far as our own behaviour goes. That is the point I am trying to make.

...well said erolz; just as true about Cyprus.

Chauvin and the other officers were arrested on about the third day. Ok, several days of peaceful protests is fair enough.

But,

These are not protesters anymore, they are political agitators, trouble makers, vandals and thieves.

They should get rounded up and charged.

This is getting old for a lot of people and their reasons are all fckn bollox at this point.

I'm sorry, Paphitis, but you cannot use the "curfew card" to justify the police brutality on peaceful demonstrators, because the protestors were attacked before the curfew at 19:00, and even if you wanted to use the curfew card, it still wouldn't be valid because Trump and most of his clowns from the White House were also out past 19:00. Surely you are not saying the curfew and social distancing does not apply to them, because if you did, then we really do have bunch of fascists in the White House where they think they are above the law, then you wonder why the police murder citizens at will!

Kiks, you will find that it was the media and the democrats that thought it was alright for these people to be out on the street during a viral pandemic, burning looting and "defunding" the police..

Only days before, they wanted to impose a quarantine on everyone and were happy for the police to enforce it.

They made a saint out of a serial criminal for their own political agenda and jeopardized hundreds of thousands of lives, and cost innocent civilians hundreds of millions of dollars in damages on top of the previous financial damages..

Max, we are not talking about rioters and looters. We are talking about the night Trump ordered the beating up of peaceful protesters at Lafayette Park for his photo op with the bible at the church.

All these people should be indoors, quarantined

Chauvin was charged before this right?

Or am I wrong?

They shouldnt be congregating in any parks.

We all temporarily lost civil liberties because of the virus.
