Do you remember the incident in April 2014 in the Black Sea when the Russians disabled the USS Donald Cook? There were those that laughed at the idea that the Russians could actually do this and it was all Russian propaganda. All the US ever did was deny it happened ! They never explained why all 10 battle fleets returned to base for ‘routine maintenance’ shortly after or why a US Aircraft Carrier was anchored for weeks just off the Isle of White again for essential maintenance?
But how many times since have we heard reports of the Russians using electronics to divert attacks, or carry out cyber attacks and recently even to screw up the avionics of an aircraft carrying a UK Cabinet minister?
IMO: I think the US placed too much confidence in their overwhelming fire power ...... and all the time the Russians were working on ways to defeat it! It came as rather a shock to the US that Russian ICBM’s were navigable and could change both track, elevation and speed. The US defense still relied on calculating trajectory of an ICBM from its launch to bring it down. Overnight the US/UK became virtually defenseless.
But shooooosh....... don’t tell the people ........ just spend more and more on defense. My question is ..... defense against whom? The last people to attack the UK Mainland were the Germans ...... maybe we should bomb Germany now ....... just in case they get any ideas of a 4th Reich?
If Nutenyahu was running Britain that is exactly what he would propose and object to the Germans owning their state.
