So USA and UK aided Gen Sahato to kill 1 million Indonesians. How many people knew that.

...slavery is not based on race; but thanks to America, slavery itself is no more: the History.

The above clip does not do justice to the subject matter. But the worst part is the fact that we must be thankful for America ending slavery. Come now RW you can do better than that.

That slavery existed for tousands of years there is no doubt. The fact that slavery continued in other places after the Americans had banned it is also not in doubt. But this does not mean the Yanks are not guilty as charged.

Fact is all the western nations who had slave owners actually compensated the owners for losing their slaves rather than compensate the slaves so they can set up a life for themsleves. Some countries that made it to indepndence since slavery was abolished only recently finsihed paying the slave owners for the loss of their earnings. Fact is all the salves in the western world were black. Fact.

Add to that what is going on in the world where the west places dictators into power, lends them huge amount of money and the poor earning a dollar a day end up paying that debt when they can hardly feed themselves is no different than slavery. It is just slightly different. You can leave if you wish but you have nowhere to go and no means of getting there.

Mixing it with slavery of thousands of years ago is just an attempt to make it sound as though it was natural.

The west tof oday was built on slavery and robbing of the smaller countries of their natural resources by legalising robbery. They are doing it to this day.

Indonasia is built on modern day slavery. So is a lot of other countries.

Valid points Lordo, thank-you.

...such as it is, this notion of a Society that is as a political system a BBF is new actually, given that its first occurrence occurred just before the French Revolution with America's Constitution: the notion that as a State, the Rule of Law is defined by its Citizens as Supreme: treating them all equally and as Individuals as a such without any further discrimination of distinction. And, while having this Freedom, in Liberty as Persons, constituent states, having this distinct identity as a Majority, in Good Will, demonstrate Good Faith providing as well in their Agenda (at such a level of government) for minorities, and their special needs, who are living among them.

While Americans still stand for Universal Principles and Basic Human Rights, "Americans" do exist, so too the corruption which is "Their" stock in trade.

Americans as we have seen (read: see because of the select committee) in the recent past is not immune to such enterprise; and as an indication of our state as a Human race we have far to go.

...slavery was normal, now it is not; there is that to say about Americans, despite the "Them" who plunder (because it is the normal for them that they refuse to change).

Slavery was very prevalent in Africa before the trans-Atlantic trade.

This is something that is often always over looked or ignored by blacks and their white allies alike.

The trans-atlantic slave trade just created even more demand for slave labor, which African empires supplied.

Basically, blacks enslaved blacks and sold their captives to the highest bidders long before white man showed up to take them to north america.

Its true, but the origins of the slave and slave owner come from people of the same race.

only today slavery is made out to be a racist institution because some people (usually blacks) want to manipulate others (usually white), for something that happened to someone else hundreds of years ago even though they had nothing to do with it.

As if blacks were the only victims of slavery, and whites where the only beneficiaries of it. Blacks dont have a monopoly on being the victims of slavery, whites and other shades in between were also enslaved throughout history. Slavery manifests in many forms through mild and extreme degrees of exploitation of the human being, and still exists today..

This thread is about America, not Slavery. So consequently it is concerning the Slavery that took place in America not any other period or place.

If you think Slavery and Racism in America were not connected you not only need your brains checked but you also need to check to see if you have any brains at all.

There is only one redeeming feature of Slavery in America which some African Americans have benefitted from in todays world.

The slave owners tried to breed their slaves in a selective way like we do animals today of their stock of slaves to get more out of them and without realising in some way have contributed to the success of the African American athletes in sports today.
