Police accountability it is then.

Name me just 1 country that has internal police investigation branches looking into police conduct, at all levels.

The police there are very controlled and among the most scrutinised on the planet.

And with all the branches ranging from all the police departments right up to the FBI, the US is one of the last countries to be a wise guy and expect to get away with it.

Then you have the justice system. Which is corruptible. All you need to do is look at the Capones and organised crime. But that is not the police’s fault.

You have over 100 agencies over there. 99.9% of them doing the best they possibly can. And there law enforcement is a dam sight better than law enforcement in Cyprus.

And the next question is, accountability for what exactly. Over some people getting shot?

Well, people are bound to get shot in a tense situation. In America, where guns are everywhere and in vehicles and handbags, it’s pretty normal to see some pretty edgy police who are shot at often. But here is a frightful statistic. More US police are shot than the other way round. Also, the victims of police shootings are predominately white than black or Hispanic. Not that it matters what they are or who they are. A person shot is still a tragedy. But what else can you do?

And isn’t it amazing how there is no more BLM since Trump left office.

I guess no blacks were shot since.

But back to guns. Lots of guns as we said. The Americans are so well armed, they can fight a civil war. I suppose hun control is an argument. But Americans see hun control by the Government as a way and means to subjugate them and limit their freedoms. And they are right. Because a well armed populace does temper the Governments control out of fear.

America is by now means the perfect country. But it is free and it has plenty of warts. Things like guns or universal health care.

It isn’t the government or the police though. The people, in general just want small government and hardly no government interference. That’s the way Americans are. It’s what they want. You just need to accept them for who they are. What they are. They have this intense fear of Government. Fear of socialism. That is what they are. They were founded that way. And it’s unlikely they will change.

And with the warts come great privileges and freedoms protected by the constitution. Where you can do what you want and live how you want without interference.

...you can see the full proceeding, here,

I blame it all on the Movies (tongue in cheek)...

...what with the Westerns that started it all, the war films, the gritty cop films and private detectives, the heroes, future, present and past, like Rambo; this kid didn't have a chance. The gun in all of this plays a central role. It would not surprise me if he is really good at video games, too.

Is he lucky that with just a little reset, at the push of a button so to speak, (that of his peers,) he is free to play again?

I can't say, but...

Say what you will, Freedom means a lot to Americans, they do not give away this "Right" so easily.

Not even the jury system works in America.

Do some research before you make ridiculous and absurd claims like this. Oh I forgot you are Paphitis. My bad.

https://edition.cnn.com/2021/11/19/us/l ... index.html

"Wisconsin law allows the use of deadly force only if "necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm." And because Rittenhouse's attorneys claimed self-defense, state law meant the burden fell on prosecutors to disprove Rittenhouse was acting in self-defense beyond a reasonable doubt.
And it was an uphill battle to climb from the start, because of the facts in this case, experts said.
"(Prosecutors) weren't able to show that his response to each of these men, to each of these sets of threats was unreasonable," criminal defense attorney Sara Azari told CNN's Pamela Brown."

...in effect, the Jury's choice was reasonable; in affect America becomes a more complex and dangerous place to live.

..no it does not RW… it makes it safer.. having a gun, legally, makes it a lot safer. Anyone stupid enough to charge up on someone holding an AR-15 should be shot, it’s called the law and natural selection. The history of America has evolved it to these realities. Having an AR15 is culturally acceptable. Imagine living on the prairie in Nebraska 175 years ago, no other human around you for 50 miles, having a gun protects you from Indians, Robbers, rapist, killers and wild Mexicans. This is the core of Americans.. Rittenhouse was justified.

That reads like you do not think Indians or Mexicans are human. The people who were there first are not human and those that came later must protect themselves from these inhuman monsters. Yeah that sounds like America's problem.
