Are you suggesting Paphitis these people are Democrats; or is this respect for "Law and Order"?

Character assassination will not solve any problems, accountability (in America) does.

I’m not sure what you are getting at RW.

America is the gold standard when it comes to democracy. There is no country on the planet that is more democratic, and free. It is more democratic than any country in the EU, and yes it is more democratic than Canada. It is more democratic than Cyprus and Greece. And more democratic than Australia and Switzerland. In all these places, democracy is just window dressing. In America, democracy is the real deal.

You can do what you want in America And you have the right to bear arms. You just don’t have the right to hurt someone unless in self defence.

The police in America are doing their jobs and are defenders of the American democracy.

Here, we have had the military on our streets for a very long time supporting the police to bash citizens with Batons, pepper spray and rubber bullets. You would think we are in Greece or Cyprus during the Coup or Greek Junta.

But it’s ok. We have a Covid Pandemic!

...the Problem in America it seems is the same problem in Cyprus.

The People must pull together as Americans; they must resist the "Republicanism" or "Democratism" that is tearing them apart.

...indeed, Trump was framed as the Law and Order President, and the same Party frames Biden as Lawless. It is meaningless because the misery that causes crime has not abated, it is more likely that it is increasing. And who does that benefit? Not Americans, individually or as persons, only "them", the extremists (and their elite) who entertain a righteousness they would like ('us') to believe is true.

You may find nothing wrong with Police refusing to respect Authority, but in my mind this is un-American. It surprises me that you can support their narrative or their expectation to be respected, given their position in a system of democracy they are sworn to uphold. Divide and rule is a lesson we should all know very well by now, but it seems we have learned nothing, divided as we (because it is a pandemic) are with an enemy like COVID which threatens us all.

...re-read your post, (and the one before that) i suggest. Consider its simplicity as an argument, and where it leads Americans; where they must choose, not as Americans, but as an opposition to the countervailing forces "they" have: losing as people this sense that all are equal.

Its all easy asking for unity but in the case of Cyprus, in the 60s RoC police picked people up and either killed them or made sure they were killed by EOKA. While our soul is noy cleansed and I use the word soul tounge in cheek like, we cannot do anything.

What we need is the Truth and Reconsciliation commission to compel al the bastards to reveal all they know. Their house of cards will fall on their heads in no time.

With America they have a different problem. When you arm the police and allow them to get away with murder, you cannot just switch it off and change things. You need to correct the situation, cleans the bastards and their bosses out of the system and compensate those who suffered properly then you may begin to solve the problem.

And of course reperations for slavery is a must. They compensated the Slaveowners when they freed the slaves but gave nothing to the slaves. Such scociety needs to be clenased properly.

Our choice in either case is to deny "their" narrative entirely, by acting accordingly.

I say, if you truly believe nothing can change, unwilling to embrace a changing world, at least stand out of the way for those who want to be helpful.

...fuck them (read: "Them") Lordo, is all I'm saying; live, live your life. The issue (read: the Problem) is the same.

And don't let "Them" rule you by following "their" rules, (by) picking a "side".

It is not hard to understand. 'We' not "them", exist too. "They" are only a part of a bigger perspective defining us as a whole.

Change what exactly?

What do they have to change?

Who are the bastards and what must they reveals?

It’s probably the most liberal country on the planet. I don’t get it RW. Literally I don’t get it.

Have you ever been to the US?

I’ve never had a problem with their police at any moment.

When it comes to liberal ideals, and the protection of minorities even to citizens who self identify as a cat, US is number 1.

Have you heard of the Bill of Rights? They wrote that document in the 1700s and it’s still exceeds most countries, if not all, to this day. Not even defamation laws or libel because of freedom of speech protections.

RW if a person does not understant the problem, there is no point explaining to him the solution. Leave the idiot to live in his own world.

This is very enlightening indeed.

Having caused cancer on 40,000 children, they will now declare bankrupt so they don't have to compensate. Can you believe this is a civilised country? Sure it is because they said they were many times.

Now here is another side of America. What a difference it makes to have a human being as President.
