Jerry looks no more than 55 -60 years old but in fact he is a year older than I !!
After a coffee at my brothers house we set off for lunch. Jerry has lived in this part of England almost all of his life so well familiar with the area. He drove to , just outside Margate and ended up at a country pub, so quintessentially English, i forget the name of this village but I shall always remember my last day in Margate. Our lunch was first class, they obviously have an experienced chef. Pretty busy eatery, all English diners and very pleasant waiting staff. We talked a great deal and enjoyed each other's company.
It rained all day practically but Jerry had his brolly available.
We took a drive back going through Herne Bay, a picturesque seaside town, I recalled visiting about 50 years ago !!
Jerry is fully conversant with the history surrounding this part of England, very informative.
We drove back and promised to meet up on his next visit to Cyprus. It was by far my best and most enjoyable day since arriving in the UK, thank you Jerry, you are a star !!

I have been with the same GP practice for over 50 years, Im in fact the oldest ....patient in terms of years with the practice. You are looking good John, the doctor said, havent seen you for over a year.
Doctor give me the good news I said.
Well, your diabetes is exactly at same level as it has been for the last 5 years, 6.8.
Fantastic I replied, how about the fucking cancer? No swearing he retorted smiling.
Well exactly same as it was 4 years ago !!
But he said, you have a B12 defficiency which must be treated ! Does it affect my walking I asked. Yes he replied.
Since coming to Cyprus I rarely eat red meat, preferring koutchia, fasolia and other similar foods. I told him this and I now understand why my left leg felt a little numb making me limb a bit.
Im very pleased with my tests, Cyprus here I come !!
miltiades wrote:Thank you Jerry. I was thinking that the left leg problem might have been the cancer spreading. I started today on the tablets and just finished scoffing an almost blue Sirloin steak. Thinking back over the last 15 months in Cyprus I think I ate red meat 2 or 3 times. From now it will be twice a week a juicy T-Bone. I must say that Im and always have been an optimist and a realist.
I shall upon my return embark upon a ...serious task of finding a gorgeous female, first I shall visit my barber in Limassol for a shave, I havent shaved since my arrival in London on 31st July, the beard is developing ....agressively!!!
