You will be back in a month or two they said !!! London now seems so very distant, do I miss it, do I miss working 60 plus hours a week? NEVER !
Im in a way making up for the many years away from Cyprus, my Paradise Island. Made numerous acquaintances have interacted with hundreds of locals , visitors and foreign nationals, have seen the sun rise more in a few months than i have ever seen in 70 years. It is truly a blessing being here in spite of my immense annoyance at the horrid driving standarts and the terrible noise by idiots on motor bikes.
Fishing has now become a daily event, twice a day , and really has me hooked. Never before have I experienced the intense pleasure of hooking a fish. My local cats have gotten to know me eagerly awaiting at my block entrance for their treats, strange but they seem to recognise my car because they appear just as i pull into my parking space.
Visiting the village is also such a joyful activity, is as if something is pulling me back to my past , my early childhood.
Im looking forward to the first rainfall and the winter, nowhere else does thunder and lightning sound so ferocious.
Being rather fond of karaolous I cant wait to gather some when the rain comes and savour them accompanied by a little zivania.
Getting ready now for fishing, its just after 4am, this lunchtime im visiting a nephew and family for a fish bbq and beer!!

When my English wife passed away i did consider a return to my beloved Cyprus , however i have a son in the UK, whose wife was battling cancer, alas her battle ended in August 2015. My son as devastated as he was has now rebuild his life and I begun to consider that it was time to retire back in my paradise homeland to be with my daughter and my 3 grandchildren as well as numerous nephews nieces and relatives.
I was a regular visitor to Cyprus over 30 and more years, I loved the excitement of the arrival and truly dredded the return back , I allready had my own appartment so no worries concerning accommodation.
I have allready said that I regrett not coming back earlier but better late than never.
