Coral Bay Beach

Postby steveffcuk » Tue Apr 25, 2017 2:32 pm

Hi all....I was out in Coral Bay a few years back shortly after the winter storm ruined the beach. From our villa we could see 2 dredgers working in the bay. Can anyway tell me what the beach is like now or are there any up to date images available. We are going in mid July so would expect the beach to be busy.
Last time we were very lucky as there were no jellyfish....is this usual for the bay or would we expect to see a few in july ??
Thanks for any info you can give me

Cheers :)

Hiya

I'm not sure what regular patterns (if any) the jellyfish follow but every so often they do turn up. But they only seem to hang around for 2 or 3 days and then are gone - leaving a lot of their fellows, sadly, stranded on the beach.

However, I have swum in the sea when there have been quite a few around and their 'sting' is no more than the feeling of having someone with sandpaper rub it briefly next to your skin. The tingle lasts for about a minute and then it's gone.

I think the beach and car parking bit have been 'gentrified' recently so it should all be tidied up - hopefully someone will be able to update you better on this.
