Create a program that scans the web for programs to give nerds like you potential gaps in the market.

You really are left behind times...just think a couple of bucks for each app....witn a good/useful app for example radar and red light warnings that work with google maps people will pay....you could easily sell 300, 000 subscriptions...you do the math...something about cyprus and tourists for example another nifty app...

Sometimes I wonder about your state of mine... :D

The global market is already saturated with shitty mobile apps. Thousands of them! :?

And not to mention that you can’t just jump from one OS to another without significant research that would probably consume the greater part of a year before you even begin writing something worthwhile.

I’m also a firm believer that if you can’t make it on the world’s most popular platform (Windows desktop) you can’t make it anywhere!

Btw I’ve got a question for you Boomers… your fingers are like the size of a frickin baseball bat so how the fuck do you control those shitty little apps on them tiny screens? :?

It’s one of those bizarre phenomenons I’ll never understand…

3. Attainable within 6-12 months.
4. Have moderate competition.

Perhaps some kind of alternative to Skype?

Implying that it’ll take more than 12 months or that it can’t be done at all? :)

Implying that you can't compete with a product which Microsoft bought for 8.5 billion dollars by making something in 6-12 months on your own in your spare time (or even with 1 more person). In this particular case you wouldn't be able to compete even if you worked the rest of your life 24/7. Skype is not "moderate competition". Moderate competition for you would be other products developed by single developers or at most small companies, and even then if there is any significant amount of money to be made in this product you would probably need to work on it full time. If you do it for fun and for learning then great ... but if you try to compete with giants like Microsoft and Google you will not make any money... you can make more money by flipping burgers at McDonald's than by trying to steal even a tiny market share from products such as Chrome and Skype.

Moderate competition means not too many competitors (or the market is not inundated with similar products) but you seem to have interpreted it as “competition that is not very strong”. :)

I also explained here in detail (under the message "Future wish list") what I had in mind with regards to a Skype-like utility...

cyprus45383-30.html

...but as per usual, you've gone off in a tangent. :)

write an app that explains all the lies the cypriot education system has pumped into the cypriot population. tell the truth of what each sides did to the other. i dare you.

start from 1570 if you like but why not start from the greek bloody invasion and tell the whole history.

now theres a mission.
