Back on topic, what is one trying to water? Horses for courses. I am in process of fitting a modest irrigation system to water a few flowers in pots and a small bed, about 4.2 x 1.2 m. (I was going to say pot plants, but someone would get the wronG idea). So far I have run out half the main line (about 6 m ) with 15 mm pipe, and two feeder lines, with 4.6mm pipe, and 15 drippers. (One per pot) . So far we have no sprinklers.
Once the rest of the plants are in place we will run out more feeder lines.
We fitted a pressure reducer to ensure one bar, and have a simple timer currently set for 3 minutes every 12 hours, with the drippers setvto minimum. we will be adjusting the settings for the next few weeks.
With a hose pipe you might use 25 to 30 l per minute. G(Takes me about 10 to 12 seconds to fill a five litre can) We hope to minimise watering can usage and water wastage.
