i have a domain name and would like to host it on two hosts. can this be done?

Have you tried implementing a bizonal, bicommunal federation?

You can use sub-domains like this…

1. www.something.com

2. www.sub.something.com

And there’s also something called “reverse-proxies” which redirects requests to different places that you may want to look up.

I have a domain name hosted on the web and i would like to host it in another place. is that possible or do I have to transfer it? I don't want to transfer it though, I just want to host it in a second place. Is this possible.

No, an IP address like “66.96.147.115” can only ever have one URL paired with it.

Maybe a trick like...

Host 1: http://www.something.com

Host 2: http://www.something.org

Host 3: http://www.something.edu


...would be a solution for you.
