"Look, Trump is an idiot, but if he wins he has the Deep State to contend with and there is no way in the world the Deep State will allow him to do any of the stupid things he says. Also, no guarantees the Republican Senators of Congress will cooperate with his administration either. "
As for this on the same date October 30th, WAR ON SYRIA , must be a ...classic.
" Assad has zero chance of taking Aleppo. And we will not be standing to the side watching war criminals raise the city from the ground. We will declare a No Fly Zone. "
No I didn't make any inconsistent posts. Back in October, trump was campaigning for the POTUS and got caught out with some pretty indecent remarks he made about women when he thought no one was listen. Remarks which border on the lewd and quite possibly were an admission of sexual harassment from a sexual predator.
A Gentleman, doesn't say things like that, or brag about it or even treat women that way. And of course I will continue to condemn such indecent conduct. And Bush's laughter was also hideous in my opinion too. he should have walked away and disassociate himself from the depravity. good for him that he apologized afterwards at least.
So yes, I stand by my comments. This doesn't change when it relates to the person - Donald J trump.
However, trump is now the POTUS. Millions of Americans elected him. He wasn't my first choice, but I respect the democratic wishes of the American people, even if I am on the other side. That's what Democracy is all about. An institution that had a bloody Cost.
Democracy isn't having a sissy fit when you get a result you don't like such as BREXIT or Donald Trump. Democracy is about being gracious in defeat and getting behind your country as a Patriot because it isn't about what your country does for you but what you do for your country and community (yes a Kennedy cliche) and respecting the communities decisions.
Hundreds of Thousands of allied troops died to protect our way of life in North America, Europe, Australia etc etc. So many wars fighting for justice, human rights and democracy and many times we all had our backs to the wall during dark hellish times when millions of people were being gassed in Gas Chambers even just to prove the volume of depravity Human beings are capable of. In a way, they all died to extend every citizen their Human Rights, their Dignity so that we aren't marched into Chambers and for the right to earn a decent living and to cast their vote at the ballot box.
It's a very significant right and it is these rights which separates us from many other countries like Syria, Iran, Russia, and Saudi Arabia for instance among other things like checks and balances, a Constitution, a free press, and the ability to live your life as a free person with freedom of association and religiosity.
Democracy isn't about being a partisan republican or democrat or a Tory or Labor Party supporter. You got to remember that and you got to respect people's right and their right to have an opinion different to yours.
So yes, of course I support Trump as POTUS like I would support an Administration elected to the Office of PM in Australia or the RoC presidency and so on and so on.
trump has been in office for less than a Month. all the demonstrations about him are premature. He has the right and mandate to implement his agenda and the USA has many Checks and balances in place if he oversteps the mark. The POTUS isn't a Dictatorship. He is the leader of a country in the free world.
trump still just thinks he can get his way because no one would have ever said NO to him but in America NO will be a word he will need to get use to because the office isn't an Authoritarian position like being a CEO or Director of a company or business is.
