Tablet/pad/laptop that projects ...

Postby GreekIslandGirl » Sun Jan 08, 2017 9:22 pm

I would really appreciate some information on whether there is a light, portable device that does the following:

1. Something I can prepare (e.g) PowerPoint presentations and documents on.

3. Then, project what's on the computer screen onto a whiteboard behind me (so that I can annotate further whilst projecting either with a keyboard/touch screen).

In other words, I want to make a presentation and have the device in front of me so that I can project data behind me onto a whiteboard. Being able to annotate over the projected information would be a bonus.

[Effectively, a portable smart-board]

Does anyone know if something exists that does all this, pretty please? :)

if its portable nobody will be able to see it.
get yourself a small projectot and carry around with you a white sheet. job done. use your mouse to anotate withing pawerpoint. when you finish save your anotations and popwerpoint will add them in as animation.

that will be 100 pounds in cash.

You already have the magic part… it’s called a laptop!

And all you need to buy is a projector and screen so that an audience can watch your presentations and guidance running off the laptop.

A mid-range projector is about 500 euros and the screen another 100.

I don't need a white screen to project upon. All places will already have that. So, thanks, but not needed.

What I need is a means to project what's on my laptop onto the screen/whiteboard/sheet. What kind of projector do I need that will convert what's on my screen? Where does it attach?

Also, I want to annotate in real time - whilst someone is asking a question and I need to clarify by drawing/writing onto the projected image. Annotating beforehand is fine, but not versatile enough (can't anticipate all the questions that I would need to supply extra pointers to).

Are there PC /tablets you can touch or type into to add extra information to as it's being projected?

You need a projector (as mentioned above) and a connector between the projector and the laptop. Usually a VGA cable coming out from the projector and connecting to the laptop will do the job.

Something like this:

Depending on your device, you may need an extra adapter (necessary if you use a tablet), e.g. a Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter: Image
