No one asked you to applaud it, but being narrow-minded and failing to understand why young people are taking their lives or resorting to crime and drugs isn't going to work and you can thank you lucky stars you never had to deal with it because no doubt you would have stuffed it up big time.
One thing you don't do is judge them or talk down to them. You got to be their bedrock and that is not done with a stick or you saying you know better than they do.
As to the behavior in the toilet! mate, George has a 10 million dollar property on Sydney Harbour. His properties in LA, London and the UK are worth just as much if not more. When he stayed in Hotels in was always in Penthouses on the most exclusive properties that you can't afford.
Think about it and then get back to me.
I'm not sure that owning millions of $$$s worth of property excuses his "indiscretions". Taken to its logical conclusion it's OK for a rich man to masturbate in a public place but, presumably, not a poor one. People who are fortunate enough to live privileged lifestyles because God or nature has gifted them a million $$$ talent should set an example to their peers instead of pursuing the destructive hedonistic ways we see today. In George Michael's case one has to ask the question - was his generosity atonement for what he perceived as wrong doing.

It did not take away from but may well have contributed to his song writing and it certainly does not take away from the many private acts of generosity that he performed with no desire for profit from any publicity.
George had apparently told his parents in 1991 (some years before the LA "cottage" incident) that he was Gay. As for the "Lewd Behavior" arrest I would not be surprised if the Police had not used some sort of entrapment - I think the words used were "pretty policeman".
What cannot be blamed on the Police are the incidents where George was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, in one case into a shop. The Drug taking, which sadly seemed to be part and parcel of the entertainment world, the pop music world in particular, may well have done for him. Tragic.
I should add that George did many charitable acts. He didn't want to be named either or seen to benefit from this generosity. it was true altruism and good on him for that.
he was noted for giving money to his friends as well. Ask for money and he would write a cheque no questions asked.
As for the Drink Driving, well how many Cypriots actually drive their vehicles drunk in Cyprus? I'm talking about respectable family men, often with children in the car. It happens Stud. it happens a lot because you can get away with it in Cyprus unless you have a crash.
In the UK, it's Russian roulette. You will get caught eventually. police are always patrolling pulling over cars and testing the driver.
If you are as Rich as George Michael is, you are probably prone to taking more risks because you don't care. You don't rely on your vehicle to get to work. You can get someone to drive you wherever you want to go. If you do need to go to court, you can afford a good lawyer too, so any penalty is like meh to them.
Yes there was the case last week of the family man who put his 3 yo kid in hospital when he piled his car up when apparently 6 times OTT, where the chances are the poor child was not properly secured in car seat, if they even had a car seat. IMHO anyone caught endangering kids by not securing them should get a big fine and a ban: Prison if they crash while doing it, certainly if they crash while over the limit.
Do not by the way restrict Drunk driving to Cypriots. I am well aware of Brits and Russians who also drive while over the limit, but getting away with it here in Cyprus does not excuse it here or in the UK, and why FFS when the guy was loaded (both with cash and drugs) did he NOT employ a driver?
The Police here do BTW run check points and stop cars to detect drunk driving.
