Extra tech info for v3.7 users:

Some examples of domains that require an alternative setting in the GDPR exclusion list under the default Level 3:

(NB: underscores inserted to prevent forum software from creating links out of them)

:!: And remember, some sites are using external scripts to prompt for privacy settings and this prevents the page from fully loading and thus the browser from taking over.

In this special case we have to utilise another of the browser's powerful tools... "URL Keyword Blocking" and add the offending scripts to block such as...

consent.cmp
yimg.com
bundle.js

The third script is used by the Mirror so those who read the Mirror at... https://www.mirror.co.uk/ should add "bundle.js" to their blocked scripts.

So as can be seen... Classic browser users have PHENOMENAL POWER at their fingertips, and are thus in total command of their Internet navigation.

Here's the difference between using a garbage browser and the Classic...

GR, do you think anybody except you is using your browser (and by using I don't mean downloading it, trying it for 5 minutes and then deleting it). If you realize that you are the only one using it then why you keep posting about it here? If you think others are using it then do you really think that others are visiting the same sites as you do? For example there are probably many 1000s of different scripts to prompt for those privacy settings, and many sites will have their own custom way of doing this. If you can't create a single way of dealing with all of them, then you can't solve the problem by implementing a specific way for each site because there are way too many websites.

I don’t just think… I know for a FACT from support emails I receive, that there are lots of Classic users and I can also observe website statistics of the home site going stupid with traffic during the first 72 hours after each new release… most of which carry the Classic’s user agent! <--- You should've thought of that Sotos.

Technical issues I post here come from the home site so the CF is not the first or the only site to receive it. What I’m doing by posting here is creating additional backlinks to such news… I’m sorry if you thought I was posting here for your perusal. :)

The banner-removing algorithm has become very efficient with a 95% plus success rate (without adding exceptions in the exceptions list)… you should take it for a spin and see for yourself before commenting.

There is a new “interesting” scheme doing the rounds targeting browsers. Here’s the offer straight from my Outlook…

"I believe that there was a miscommunication, as what we offer you is a way to gain extra revenue. So in this case, we want to pay you and there are no investments required from you.

Our SDK is used to collect public internet data using your customer's network resources while their device is in an idle state. Also, our SDK has no UI, so it won't slow down your app and would not drain an extra battery. It does not have any annoying pop-ups or advertising messages - this means the better user experience and better app reviews for you!

Most importantly, XXXXXX SDK does not collect ANY personal user data, we are only interested in IPs, that would be used for our proxy solution.

Our payment methods are bank transfer, PayPal, and Bitcoin and there is no minimum threshold for payment. Also, if you do integrate our SDK on your app, you will be provided with a personalized dashboard so that you could see all kinds of stats, like how many daily active users do you have and how much you've made.

If you are still interested, please let me know, and I will be able to provide you with our SDK for both Windows and Android for you to test. Oh, and you will be paid for the test period as well :)"

I wonder how many browsers have accepted this… :?

God help you all... oh wait! 8)

Bill Gates: I just got your email. I am interested! How much money will you pay me to add your code to my browser?

Spam guy: Well, we offered Get Real $20 and he was very interested, so we will offer to you the same.

Bill Gates: Sweeeeet!! Best deal I ever made!

I know that when you hear “browsers” you can only name about 5, but you may be shocked to hear that there are 3-4 dozen and someone out there among them is bound to take up this offer!

In the meantime, some of the big names (yes, the 5 you can name) don’t need this scheme because they are already playing similar games with your IP while you are half asleep Sotos…

There are probably 100s of "browsers" which nearly nobody is using. But who cares? Those that spammed you didn't even know about your browser. It was a mass email, which they probably got from one of those places you have your browser listed for download. They send their spam to everybody listed there and then wait for a few idiots to respond. Note that they talk about an "app" (they don't know what kind of "app" you have, nor they care) and then they talk about Android, even though your browser is just for windows.

If the "big names" want to do something they can do it anyways. Your browser is running on Windows made by Microsoft, while Chromium is mostly written by Google.

No it’s not a “mass email”… it’s actually a very personal one which makes it all the more serious and worrying. Had it been spam nobody would take them seriously in this day and age.

This is actually a legit business with a nice looking website… I removed their name from the quote for obvious reasons.

Well they ARE and you're one of their victims.

There is nothing personal in their email to you. They talk about an "app" and they tell you about Android even though your browser is Windows only. What was personal about it? Did they use the name of your browser in the subject? That is just a variable. When you submitted your browser to one of those places you had to fill a form. One of those places sold your data to somebody (along with the data of 1000s of others) and this was a mass email send with your data plugged in as variables, e.g.:

Spammer wrote:Hello <name>,

We really like <app name> and we have a deal to propose to you...

You have been fooled if you thought there was anything personal. In fact even though you replied to them they emailed you back a canned response and STILL probably didn't bother to check what kind of app you have, which is why their response to you is totally generic.

If they are then you are their victim as well since you are using Windows.

Nope… it’s very personal but you’re just being an immature idiot derailing the issue at hand, as per usual. No surprises there… :)

Daft assumptions are all you’re ever good at Sotos… like the second one you make here that I submitted my software to one or more sites… well here’s another shocker for you, it never happened!

You may now commence chewing on your keyboard... :)

Anyway, you're just an idiot and a total waste of time...
